Does the younger sibling copy everything?

My boys are 5 and 3 (almost 6 and 4). My younger DS wants WHATEVER his older brother wants. Don't get me wrong... it's so cute, but there are times I'd like my younger DS to have a mind of his own. LOL!
Younger DS FINALLY potty trained so I told him he gets to pick what we have for dinner as a special treat. He answered whatever his older brother wants. LOL!
It's like that with everything. Older DS has a loose tooth so younger DS yelled... ME TOO! My tooth is loose.
DS1 comes off the bus and we do homework so younger DS gets his paper to do HW. He also get jealous though. It is tough when older DS has playdates or a birthday party his younger brother isn't invited too. Even though younger DS also gets invited to parties from his preschool friends.
I love that they love each other though and really are best friends.

I thought this would be the case... Especially because mine are close in age... But no. Our younger def does not copy the older. Maybe it's because of the boy/girl thing.

Pretty much. My DS is 2 and my DD is 6 and he does EVERYTHING she does. He idolizes her and LOVES to play with her so he will listen to everything she tells him. They are hands down best buddies. Chat Icon

Yes - my boys are 5 and 3 and the 3 year old wants everything his brother does.

I took them to Toys R Us a few months back because my older son earned a toy through his sticker chart and I told my little guy he could get something. He chose Legos like his brother until I pushed him around to sections with toys he'd like better.

I recently got them both backpacks but, I got DS 1 a lunch bag since he's starting K next year. DS 2 was like where's my lunchbox? The next morning - the first thing he said to me was did you get my lunchbox yet?

I have the opposite problem - DD1 copies DD2! I really hope they don't copy DD3 when she comes - I will have three babies!

Re: Does the younger sibling copy everything?

In my house, that answer is an emphatic yes. My younger DD copies everything my DS does, wants to eat whatever he's eating, and wants to wear whatever he's wearing.

I just bought my son R2D2 Crocs, and seriously contemplated getting them for my DD too. I may still have to get them once she sees them.

yes dd 1 will be 5 in 2 weeks and dd 2 just turned 2 in march. DD2 follows dd1 around and deos and says everything dd1 does. it's hysterical and annoying all at once lmao
