Rylan is 3 and Xavier is almost 16 months and a tiny tiny little thing. He is constantly wrestling Rylan down...biting him...pinching him...stealing his toys...food and drinks. I seriously can't take it anymore!!! What makes it worse it Rylan does NOTHING about it but complain to me. Of course I don't want him to hurt him back but come on now...do SOMETHING!! I try and tell him to hold on to his toy...food...drink harder and pull away. If Xavier is on top of him get away somehow...he's 5X bigger than him. I'm so tired of the screaching mommmmmmmy helllllllp. No matter what I do...say to Xavier he goes right back at him.

How can I teach Rylan to stand up for himself? How can I get Xavier to be a little nicer to Rylan. I feel so bad because he is scared of the little twirp...lol.

I do.

Tyler is a bully. Jack is constantly running to me "Mommy - Tyler hit me AGAIN!"

I actually just taught Tyler to say and do "nice" about 5 minutes ago.

He's a bull this kid. He will walk up to me, give me a big hug, and head butt me at the same time.

Every time Tyler hurts Jack I make him go up to him, give him a hug and a kiss. I am starting time-outs with him now too.

He would be in time out ALL day long...lol. I'll have to try it though. I feel like i'm yelling at him all day to be nice...no hitting...no biting...no pinching...no taking. Danny's parents live downstairs from us and have family i've never met visiting today...they'll be here for a week. I'm such a yeller and have to try not to be this week...lol. It's going to be a loooong week!!

Uh, yeah, and I have girls. Chat Icon

They are 5.5 and 4 now and the biting has stopped, but the little one STILL jumps on top of her sister, hits her, pinches her, etc. Most times it's not in anger, but still...

I tried time-outs briefly, but she actually pulled out the chair herself and ENJOYED sitting alone. OK, that didn't work. I tried reasoning with the older one..."Just don't play next to her..." Yeah, that didn't work. Taking away desserts or other treats from the agressor...works for about a day and then she's up to her old antics again. Finally, after trying all other avenues I had to resort to the old "hit her back."

THAT seemed to have worked. The little one started crying after being hit by the older one. She totally didn't like it. AHA! Finally! Yeah, until the next day when I heard the little one exclaiming, "Hit me HARDER, Katherine!" Chat Icon

So, long story short...nothing worked. Katherine and I just sympathize with one another since we both have little sisters..."Little sisters are the worst sometimes, aren't they?" Chat Icon Chat Icon

I think it's the age my younger one is at more than anything. When my older daughter was her age (16 mths) she was rough with the baby--sometimes bopped her on the head, bit her, etc. Now, the older one (now 2.5) has stopped, and the younger one does the same thing to her. My older one is very good. I taught her not to hit back, and to tell me, and to tell her sister "Not nice- no hitting/no biting". I let her take part in the teaching and it seems to work. I make sure the younger one gets a time out, and the older one sees that and knows I am defending/protecting her and not letting her sister get away with it. I'm pretty sure the younger one will outgrow it.

Same with Xavier...90% of the time he thinks he's playing because he's laughing the whole time.

"Hit me harder" OMG...that is the funniest thing ever!!!!Chat Icon

My 4 year old is constantly picking on my 7 year old...Its just their personalities my 4 year old is more energetic, sporty, etc. and my 7 year old is more relaxed, not into physical contact sports or anything of the such.
