Does drinking OJ or eating candy before a sono really do anything?

I have my anatomy scan on Thursday and I want this baby to be moving around so we can get some good shots. With my first, I think DD was sleeping during my scan. This baby was in a weird position during my 12 week. Does eating or drinking something really make them move? If so, is it "mean" to do to them?

I drank a glass of juice because I wanted to see her in action as well! And she was a busy little thing She looked like she was stomping grapes

And now that I feel her more often, I DEFINTELY notice her move and kick after a glass of cold liquid, not even juice, water works, and she was moving around a few minutes after some chocolate yesterday too

I don't think it's mean. We eat and drink stuff anyway and they do react to it.

ITA about the cold water thing. I no longer drink OJ because of reflux but I did try it earlier during my NT scans. My DS is very stubborn and moves only when he wants to

I know for a fact that coca cola will have him moving a lot but it also gives me the jitters so I no longer drink that either.

I have found that a plain glass of cold water will get him started as well.

yeap. makes them wiggle and move like crazy :) time it one hour before your sono for best results :)

Yup! I had some OJ before my level II anatomy scan today. Baby was moving around. I did the same with my first. With this baby, he/she wasn't in the best position so I drank some more juice during the sono and that got baby to move into a better position.
