Does Being Pregnant Still Feel Surreal?
I'm nearly 18 weeks and the pregnancy still feels very surreal! It's so hard to believe there's a growing baby inside of me!
I'm afraid of waking up one day only to find out that I'm just getting fat!
Anyone else still feel that way?

Re: Does Being Pregnancy Still Feel Surreal?
I feel every move she makes right now and it is very surreal. I stop and think "Holy crap, I am going to be somebody's MOM in less than 2 months' time." Then I have to keep from figuratively soiling myself

Re: Does Being Pregnancy Still Feel Surreal?
I'm 18 weeks too, and it's so surreal to me. I haven't felt anything yet so I figured that may be why I feel like this.
I just made a comment to my mom....that maybe it's not there and I'm just getting fat.

Re: Does Being Pregnancy Still Feel Surreal?
I am 30 weeks and I still can't believe I'm actually pregnant and will have a little baby in my arms in just 10 weeks. It really is a totally surreal experience but I'm loving every minute of it!!

18 weeks here and totally feel that way. Even when I feel the movements, it feels very surreal.

Re: Does Being Pregnant Still Feel Surreal?
I'm only 8 weeks, and I still can't believe it. I went for my first dr. appt. this week, and they took another preg. test to confirm...can you believe I was sweating that I wasn't pg??? It's so hard to believe.
My first ultrasound is next week...so I think it will make it more real for me (and DH!).

Re: Does Being Pregnant Still Feel Surreal?
I know exactly what you mean!!! At 30 weeks, its like I know I am pregnant, I know there is a baby in there, I can feel him all the time, but I still can't quite "connect" that I am actually going to have a little baby soon. It is such an overwhelming miracle

Maybe a part of the reason why we feel this way is because we don't want to jinx things.
And, partly because, we're afraid to acknowledge our situation because it's just too FABULOUS to be real! :D

YES!!! Sometimes I think wow, is this really happening? Is there really a little baby in there? I know there is but it's still so early, I guess once I feel movement it will all become more real! XOXOXO BOTB

I know I partly feel this way to protect myself from fully having accepted I will have a child in case something goes wrong. Morbid, I know, but I think it's a way of protecting myself.

I feel the same way. I still don't believe I'm pregnant half the time. I think it's also surreal b/c it happened so quickly. I wasn't expecting that at all.

Re: Does Being Pregnant Still Feel Surreal?
It's surreal, but a huge blessing!
Due to my and DH's age (both 37), I was concerned that we would have challenges getting pregnant, but that wasn't the case at all. Plus the fact that I'm 18 weeks and not really showing is kind of weird--I just look and feel full or bloated, not pregnant.

Re: Does Being Pregnant Still Feel Surreal?
Yeah, I totally cannot believe it. I can't believe I am going to be almost completely responsible for someone else's life in a few months.
I think about everything you have to do with a baby and then as they grow into a child and a young adult and my head feels like it's gonna explode.
