Re: Does anyone watch The Next Food Network Star?
I'm really surprised that JAG found the need to exaggerate his background stories. He went to culinary school, but didn't graduate. Just tell everyone "I went to culinary school." If they *assume* you graduated, that's not a lie.
He honorably (according to him....) served in the US Marines, but didn't go to Afghanistan like he said. Didn't he think someone would eventually rat him out? Being in the Marines is extremely noble and honorable. There's no need to lie about where you served.

I didn't watch the episode yet where he gets booted, but I knew there was something shady about that guy. He always seemed to be on the offensive about stuff. And he looked very uncomfortable during the episode where they had to go, of all places, to a military base to prepare food for servicemen/women. You'd think that he'd almost feel 'in his element' there, right?

Re: Does anyone watch The Next Food Network Star?
I just got hooked on the show recently. I only saw about the last 3 episodes, so I didn't see that army one with Jag. I was disappointed he lied. Like someone else said, serving at all is an honor, so he shouldn't have exaggerated. I was planning on voting for him. I think I would've voted for Amy...if I hadn't missed the deadline. Haha.

Oh and the fact that Jag is Latino and his cooking style is "Latin Fusion", yet he constantly kept referring to chi-pot-le as chi-pol-te was very annoying. At least get your ingredients right!

Re: Does anyone watch The Next Food Network Star?
I love it! Jag REALLY started to irritate me though recently.
I like Rory , but that Grin and those gums...
And Why did Jag Lie? Im assuming they do backround checks? What the heck? It wasnt a huge lie either in terms of getting him anywhere on the show? Just plain WEIRD!

I always had a bad vibe about him...with his anger that they repeatedly warned him about. What a shame he had to be a liar too. I think he had good skills/talent for cooking.
He ruined it why I dont know.

Re: Does anyone watch The Next Food Network Star?
I was jumping around the living room shouting "I KNEW IT!!!" when the lies came up.
Something about how he told the stories never sat well with me.
He never wanted to talk about his background but always wound up doing so.
And the faces he was making when he was "confessing". Liar liar pants on fire!!
I was actually shocked that they sent Amy home to begin with. I had her pegged to win it all.

Rory was on a reality show on CMT (Country Music Television) called “Popularity Contest.” She came in second.

I actually liked JAG, he knows his way around the kitchen, he has huge enthusiasm for cooking... too bad he felt the need to lie...
