I found this on imdb.com

Regina Mills (Evil Queen): Regina is a Late Latin feminine name meaning "Queen". Mills refers to the Greek word "Milo" meaning "apple" in modern Greek, which is in reference to the Queen poisoning Snow White with an apple.

I think it refers to the fact that she's the Miller's daughter from the Rumplestiltskin story.

Love the show, but I watch it on the computer. Regina Mills as Evil Queen has the baddest make up and wardrobe. There was one outfit had me thinking that could be a wedding dress in white. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

No, from the actual, real life Ramplestiltskin sotry.

In the story a Miller tells the King his daughter can spin straw into gold to gain favor. The King locks her up and gives her straw but she obvi can't spin it into gold. Rumple comes and trades her jewelry and makes straw. Finally she has no jewelry left, so she has to promise him her unborn child.

I wonder if she's the Miller's daughter:

A) her name is Mills.
B) She referenced her father not having protected her in the past
C) She references past deals made with Rumple
D) She really seems to want children

I enjoy the show, but I don't have the energy to break it all down like that. The show has made me realize how much I DON'T know about fairy tales.

I did too, and got really into it the the beginning, but nothing was making any sense, so I got tired of it.

In this, I do notice the obvious things, especially with the nsames, like Ruby, and that Regina means queen, and Snow "White" is miss "Blanchard", but when the show started I need my DH to explain who Rumplestiltskin was. Chat Icon I knew the name, but not the story. I think I have Grimm's fairytale's. I should probably read it.

When I watched LOST, I made an ever growing flow chart with all of the connections between the characters. it totally fascinated me. I was really into the "mythology"

I don't think you NEED to do that for OUAT, but I like trying to figure things out
