Does anyone know what this means? (regarding 3hour glucose)
So, I had the dreaded 3 hour on Tuesday after failing the 1 hour glucose by one point. It was awful.
Anyway, they called from my doc today that everything looks good but that one of my "fasting sugars" was slightly borderline. Doc wants me to fast again and get blood taken again after fasting just to check on it. Does anyone know if this could still be indicative of GD? I tried to ask but when they called I was a little flustered and wasn't properly asking the right questions. Nurse said likely not and if anything I might have to slightly modify my diet but probably not.
Just wondered if anyone had something similar to this happen? It's always something weird with me.

well, before you consume that horrid thing they call a 'drink' they take your blood and measure your sugar levels following a fast.
It SHOULD be below 95, according to my dietician. Since I have GD, I take it every morning, and frankly, I had a 78 this morning, but other times had 93, 91... it's all so random.
I'm betting your sugar level was something like 100, just above threshold of them caring at all. IF you get below 95 the next time, I bet they'll ignore the situation completely.
did you drink or eat anything other than water prior to the test? That could have done it......

I was supposed to start fasting at midnight for a 7:30am appointment - does this seem right?
The only thing I had were tums in the middle of the night because I was a zombie and not thinking and the heartburn was so bad. Would this have affected anything? I did have m&m's and a coke the day before though (but well before midnight).

I believe that should be fine and shouldn't affect anything.
It would really be something like drinking a coffee with milk/ sugar at breakfast before the test...
I think you'll be fine. the fasting #'s are usually not the problem......
