Does anyone know what happens when you return after an extended leave and there is no spot in your original school?
I have to decide for next year whether or not to return. I've been out for 6 years now on extended leave (in that time I've had two kiddos). I spoke with the secretary at my school and she said she'd have to see if I can come back there since it now depends on senority. Does anyone know what happens if I can't return to the school? Do I get placed any where? Do I have to find a school myself? Thanks!

Not sure if you are in the city or LI, but I would assume they would find a school in your district. I have never heard of someone having to find their own school

you get any open spot in the district. wherever there's an opening in your certification they will place you. you are not guaranteed your old school or grade
