Does anyone keep going back and forth?

I know I am getting there, some days I am like lets really start TTC, other days I am like "No, I am not ready".

Honestly, if it wasn't for a process that happens with my position that gives me more security, I think we would start really TTC.

But that security really means alot to me, to us.

I hate these indecisive feelings.

I am 31, will be 32 in July, so that is on my mind too.

yes. This last week I have been big time. I think mostly because I was shopping for my cousin's baby shower and was completely overwhelmed by all the cute baby stuff. It's just been non stopp baby.

Then I wasnt feeling well for the last 2 weeks and one of my co-workers asked me if i was preggo and I told her no i wasnt, just realy stressed. Then just for my own sanity I actually did a test and BFN. I was honestly a little sad. But then on Thursday when I was up and getting ready to go to NY, it was all about me. I got up, went to get coffee, did some errands, then home and got ready to go. I thought how great it was to just get up and do what I wanted.

Next week I have a bunch of things I am doing and also a night of drinks with some co-workers. I love those drink nights. We generally go to Chilli's and just have a good time.

So I do go back and forth but I think it's in the moment. I want a little bit more of it being all about me and all about us.

We are a bit older - so honestly it's do or die.

But I think what you are feeling is quite normal. Enjoy your freedom and then enjoy the little ones! Take one day at a time.

Absolutely!!!! That is why we are not TTC right now. My life has periods of extreme stress and I don't want to add to it right now with the worries of TTC. As much as I want children, the time has to be right.

That is SO me! I am at that age too! We really want to TTC but because I am a teacher, I am untenured we are kinda waiting, but I received tenure next year, hopefully but whatever happens but I think I am ready LOL I don't know

I totally felt this way and put it off for a while. Now that it is taking so long, I wish I would have started trying sooner. I just assumed it would happen faster than it is. On the other hand, it does happen immediately for some. I think most people go through a time when they are not totally sure. Good luck when you do start trying .

I went back and forth for a while, then I seriously woke up one day and said..."I'm ready!!!'...
Then I had to wait almost a year for Dh to be ready!

yes definitely. we just got married in march and i want to get all these bcp hormones out of my system and start prenatals but beyond that i havent really established a definite ttc date or anything bc im "going back and forth" in my mind like u said and hey i think thats realllllllllly normal when all u have ever had to care for is yourself and now each other and thats enough to get used to without adding another to the mix right away....i reallllllllllly want kids but im definitely "going back and forth" soooooooo we're gonna wait a couple of months

I did. I had months were I was happy to see AF, then other months were I hated her. I think it's totally normal.

Yes! I think b/c it's a life changing decision and there's no turning back from it, it's very normal to go back and forth and have a lot of ambivalent feelings.
