Does anyone here still have dial-up internet?
My internet was just working really slow and I remembered how dial-up used to be. I don't know how I ever tolerated such slow internet!!
DH's parents still have dial-up, the couple of times we have used the computer at their house I want to throw it through the wall!!

Raising hand sheepishly.  I'm in the dark ages!
I do because I am about to move and didnt want to go through the process and signing up for a contract until after I move.
My computer is speedy and I don't see a lot of difference on a normal basis. (I've used computers that are on other fast connections to compare.)
The sloooow process for me is downloading videos, so I don't do that a lot, right now.

mine too! We spent a week by them over xmas...and it was torture trying to use the internet!!
ETA they have no choice because of the area they live in...VERY middle of nowhere. So imagine how bored I was....when all you got is dial up internet and tons of football on TV!

I don't have dial up, but I used an ATM in North Carolina last week that was on dial up. It was taking such a long time, and then the phone rang in the store and I lost the connection!

Oh lord no.
I remember when I had AOL about 9-10 years ago and trying to get in at peak times, like 8 pm, was so hard.. you had to keep trying to get a non busy signal to log on... and then getting kicked off was so frustrating!

I don't know how I got my parents on DSL - but that's still slow
Even Suffolk County Libraries - who used to offer free dial up - got rid of it.

OMG remember that?!
I also remember the sound it made when you connected after it dialed. In the apartments DH and I used to live...if it was really late at night and I'd be trying to get to sleep, I'd hear that sound and I thought, OMG people STILL use dial up?
I remember trying several different phone numbers to get the best connection back in the day!!!

MIL/FIL as well as my mom have cable modems. I think SIL/BIL and my sis/BIL still have dial-up. I had DSL up until a few months ago. Now I have FiOS. I can't imagine having to go back!

Some of the women on another board I go on do and one of them (with a tween and 2 teenagers in the house) has a computer with NO internet. Oh, and she is a professor. I don't get that one at all!!!!
