Does anyone have access to Newsday articles? passing away of LI wedding planner
I dont have access to Newsday articles but there is an article about a girl who was a wedding planner on LI who passed away. Does anyone have access to the article? I don't know her but it saddened me to hear of her passing, she seemed so well loved.
Her family and loved ones must be so sad.

On the website for her wedding planning business, Diana Filbry detailed the job she so loved: getting the bride dressed, ensuring "that her lip-gloss made it back into her clutch," she wrote.
It wasn't just work for the self-described "wedding concierge" -- when her brother got married, she decorated the house in white tulle. For her boyfriend's 35th birthday, she erected a backyard tent and prepared dessert -- marshmallow fondue on chopsticks.
Filbry died Thursday at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola. She was 37 and lived in Massapequa.
She went to the hospital May 22 with back pain and learned she had a ruptured disk and cracked vertebrae, her family said.
But a scan revealed a more serious illness that is still being diagnosed.
She died in the hospital from a heart attack due to a pulmonary embolism, her family said.
Filbry started an invitation-making business, Written Confections, about three years ago, but later added concierge service -- booking venues, assisting with orders and a dash of hand-holding and organization for brides on their big day.
"Her job was to make everybody's special day better," said her sister, Sandy Filbry, 36, of Farmingdale. "She was a very creative person."
Filbry was born in Manhasset and grew up in Westbury and Hicksville.
She graduated from Holy Trinity Diocesan High School in Hicksville in 1993.
At 15, "eager to get onto the road of independence," according to her website, she began working for an event company.
She loved the work -- and also staying out past her parents' strict 8 p.m. curfew.
"So what started as a passive-aggressive way to get around my parents' tough rules became a twisted and fabulous career," she wrote on her website.
She graduated from the New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury with a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1997.
Her boyfriend of three years, Jason Fenichel, a professional drummer and instructor, said he knew instantly she was the girl for him by her reaction when he told an off-color joke.
"She thought it was the funniest thing," said Fenichel, 36. "So I asked her out right there on the spot and that was it, we were inseparable from that day on."
They frequently talked about their own wedding, though they weren't engaged, he said.
"We were holding off on getting married till our businesses were up and running," he said.
Besides her sister, Filbry is survived by her mother, Sophie Filbry, her father, Kenneth Filbry, her brother, Kenneth Filbry, two nieces and grandmother Rose Ziemski, of Albertson.
Calling hours are scheduled Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, Hicksville Chapel, 47 Jerusalem Ave.
Burial is Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola in Hicksville.

This is horrible, since it was probably preventable. I'm a pulmonary embolism survivor and these stories always remind me of how lucky I am.

OMG this is so incredibly sad!!! How does a 37 yr old woman just go into the hospital with back pain and die!!! SO SCARY  My heart goes out to her family and loved ones

Thank you for posting the info. Boy, does Newsday control info , or what? I went to about 10 sites and they all redirected to Newsday. Most daily newspapers at least let you see an obituary without paying! I'm from NJ but was interested in what happened to such a beautiful, young person. Thanks.
