I'm going through this right now.
We're going to Mexico for a week and I've already started packing. I weighed our 2 suitcases, and one is close to 50 lbs, so we'll take some stuff out and put it in a 3rd bag.
The 3rd bag is carry-on size, but it will have to be checked. It's going to have all of our suntan lotion, after-sun lotion, shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, pepto, etc. All stuff we can't carry on the plane anymore, but stuff that weighs a ton when it's packed all together.
I've heard of people having separate suitcases just for their shoes, but never for their liquids!
