I just got the pamphlet outlining the programs for the kids and they have some really good stuff in there.

I signed up Erin for a baby games class, and think that I will sign up Ry for a few toddler programs. All free! Chat Icon

They have some parent classes too, one on potty training, CPR and choking class, and mother discussion groups. They all sound interesting.

I will this summer, because most of the classes are offered during the week, when I work.

I wish - my library has NOTHING for kids basically under 2 or 3 - I think they have one activity here and there for 18 month olds. I would love to take her to something.

We only have a story time for kids under 2 years old. It's not even good but sometimes we go to get out of the house.

my library has baby music time for birth to 12 months and we go every month. DS loves it. I can't wait until he is old enough for the other stuff they offer.

my library has a ton - now that I'm home, I'm trying to take advantage of them (considering I pay close to $600 for the library a year!)

Yes. A baby music program, a baby storytime, and sometimes we go to a new parent hour (just playtime for the kids and a chance to meet other parents).

They are all fun, some programs are better than others, but they are free, so I'm pretty happy to have a decent activity to bring him to for no $$$.

Yes, my youngest DS and I went to a baby games glass last weekend and it was great. I just signed up for a couple of more classes this month and will be doing the same for next month.

we do. ours offers a good amount. for those of you whose libraries don't seem to offer a lot for your child's age group you should definitely definitely push for one. usually when they realize that there is interest they will create and offer a program. our library got a lot of complaints about there not being enough programs where siblings can come so we created a bunch and they are VERY popular.

Agreed with pp. I used to work for a library, and we would try to accomodate requests for programs when we could.

But if they offer the program, also show up! At times we would create a program, promote it, then 2 people would come.

DW signs up for as many classes as we can fit in, and DC are eligible for. We usually get a few per season.
