Does anybody else's 2.5 yo hate getting their diaper changed?
It is such a battle with my son! He'll have dump ride up his back rather than tell us that he made poopies. We're trying to explain to him that its ok to poop and pee and to let us know when he does so that we can change him and he can be clean and dry.
I'm thinking that maybe in daycare he gets teeased by the older kids when he makes poopies? I'm going to have a talk with his teachers tomorrow morning but I was wondering if anybody else goes through something similar.
Thanks!

My son often cries, flips over and runs away. He'll be two in June.

It's the absolute worst, he needs to get on the potty training bandwagon STAT!

I spoke with his teachers this morning and we agreed that they'll be a little more discreet with him when taking him to be changed and just talk to him and try to convince him to let them know when he poops...I will do the same at hom and lets see of it works. I have a feeling potty training is going to be so much fun with this one!

Have you considered trying to potty train him? My boys were both trained by 2 1/2, and so was DD... maybe he is just ready to NOT have diapers anymore?
Just a thought

Believe me I tried! We have a potty in the living room, we read books and watch DVDs. When I ask him if he would like to try and sit on the potty he says no and runs away...*sigh*. Maybe I'm not doing it the right way? I think I'm going to have to educate myself a little more on how to introduce it to him...

Re: Does anybody else's 2.5 yo hate getting their diaper changed?
I'm sorry... I was not trying to make you feel badly! Its just that with my DS# 1, the first thing that I noticed when he turned 2 was that he REFUSED to lie still for a diaper change. Then as he inched closer to 2.5 he was hiding in places whenever he pooped. I took a leap of faith and stuck him in underwear... cold turkey. He had a TON of accidents, but once he realized that he was "in control" and was not being changed forcefully, he figured it out, something *clicked* and within a week he was PTed. DS# 2 was easy because he was watching # 1 (they are 19 months apart).
Hang in there

Oh no, I didn't take it that way at all! I just don't think he is ready yet, or maybe he is but I'm not introducing it the right way I'm going to try and keep his diaper off when at home and we'll see if he agrees to go...I just don't want him going on my couch! Last time I tried keeping off his diaper he stuck out his peesh and peed on the floor (after I told him a gazillion times to go in the potty) and on my couch

PTing is NOT fun by any means.
