Doctors does not do 1hr anymore
Have anyone else experienced this?
I've had a 1 hr glucose test with both my other sons. My next appointment will be the glucose test and I have to go right to the 3 hr test. My doctor said they were getting too many false negatives on the 1 hr so they elimated them and go right to the 3 hr. Has anyone else experienced this?
How much blood to they draw? It seems like an awful lot.

My OB did the one hour both times.
ETA - For the three hour they draw a vial, then you drink the icky drink, and then they draw a vial every hour.

With my first DS my dr did a 2 hour, for the same reason, they got too many false positives on the 1 hr. It wasn't so bad other than the time commitment. Just one vial every hour.

I think thats great, I begged to get the 3 hour this time- diabetes runs in my family so I have to go early each pregnancy and then again at the 24 week mark- both times last pregnancy, I got a false positive on the 1 hour. Would rather do the three and be done one way or another

my doc didn't do a 1hour
he went straight to the 2 hour. If failed no 3hour.

Nope. I just did the one hour last week. No mention of anything different. This is my third and I've taken and passed the one hour every time.
