Do your bday invites have to match your "theme"? Update:Added another Ques!

I dont know...not sure about the one I made and we are having the "Elmo" theme...pretty original right?

I started another one and did it a totally different way...but I think I like it and no Elmo in it.

What do u think?

ETA: Okay, I wasnt doing a progression one..DOnt have the energy to put all those together but..what do you think
of using colors to match?

Ex: If I dont use the ELMO one, should I still stick with colors I would be using at the party?

Nah I dont think they have to at all.

I would do whatever you like best.

If I got one I wouldnt think twice about it not being the same as the theme.

I was thinking the same thing.

I kind of wanted to do the pictures leading up to his first birthday - but am having the Backyardigans - so I'm torn.

I may do it anyway - he's only one once right?!

I dont think it has to. We're doing an Elmo theme as well, but the invites (which I am working on now Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon ) are going to be photo progression. DH and I agree, we really like the progression invites.

Mine weren't a baseball theme...but I used the same colors as the tableware. I'm also insane when it comes to this stuff Chat Icon

I think it's a nice touch to match, but if you did progression, that would be more than acceptable as well! I just wouldn't send out Elmo invites if my theme was Backyardigans, etc. Chat Icon

DS's were not. DH felt that we would get all truck themed gifts if we sent out a truck themed invite.

I dont think you have to. We are trying to do a theme but I did find cute 1yr baby invites so I may use that instead.

I don't think so - particularly if you're having a 1st birthday.

You can do the progression photos & then in the text write "Join the Backyardigans in celebrating...." or
"Please join us for -----'s Backyardigans Party in our backyard"

Re: Do your bday invites have to match your "theme"?

I don't think so. I would just think most things at the party would match a theme, but not necessarily the invite too. Maybe when she's older?

I am torn too. For DS I did match but I think I want to a progression invite since people don't get to see my kids alot now that we moved. I am doing a butterfly theme for DD's birthday so I think I might try and incorporate the butterflies some how. I did make one already but it is bugging me that it doesn't match.

Re: Do your bday invites have to match your "theme"?

I did a collage of photos from each month of his first year, whith a baby blue and brown color scheme, but his "theme" for his party is Winnie the Pooh's 1st Birthday. So mine don't match, and I'm very happy with both!

Mine kinda sorta match - not dead on but somewhat...I don't think it's necessary though.

Not at all, but I've become totally anal like that to the point where even the "saying" on the invite has to match the theme...ugh! Chat Icon Chat Icon

You don't have to match anything to the birthday theme.

ALso if you want progression photos, I have a layout done that you can have or I can drop their photos in. Shouldn't take long at all.
