Do you use a rash guard for your toddler
I bought them last yr and was wondering if they are important or can she wear a regular bathng suit (and of course sunblock) all summer.
Do you use rash guards? Are they a must have for a 2 y/o?

This year I got some for DD (18 mos). Mostly because we are going to the Caribbean but also because I figured she's going to be playing outside a lot more than last year so it would be good to have.

I do because DD is super fair. I use the short sleeved ones and she seems comfortable in them. I am crazy with reapplying the sunblock too. I got them from Carters last year and Target. I might order some Lands End ones for this year. Definitely size up. DD wore 2T ones last year when she was 12-13 months. probably going to get her 3 or 4T this year.

I did but DS is so pale he's almost see-through.  He'll be 2.5 come summertime.

I will get my DS a rash guard (2.5yo). I don't want him to get a sunburn, so I get one with SPF and I slather sunblock all over him before dressing him.

Yes, definitely, they help and I think they are adorable  but I do put on lots of sunscreen underneath as well.

my almost 2 year old will this year agian- it makes him so much easier to grab in the pool because the rash guard is not slippery - my son gets slipepry from all the sun screen rubbed on him

Thanks ladies! SO I will buy them again. I just wanted to be sure.
Only problem I bought her like 8 bathing suits already I couldnt help myself and now she just got 3 more for Easter!!!
she has 11 more than her mommy!

Both my kids wear them. My boy has never once complained. And my DD's bathing suits are 2-piece, where the top is a rash guard shirt.
