My DH does it and it really upsets me.
G O D forbid he gets into an accident and hurts someone for something so stupid that could have waited until he got to where he was going.
Its a huge issue between the two of us.

Too dangerous!! I would do it at a stop light, if it was urgent. But while trolling down the highway? Not for me.

Honestly, stuff like this REALLY bothers me. There are other people on the road and people who are texting while driving and doing all sorts of other things that seriously distract them are making the roads more and more dangerous. I cannot for the life of me understand why people think that their text message is more important than my safety and the safety of all the other drivers and pedestrians out there.

Sometimes I want to shake these people and tell them -- "You and your text message are not more important than the rest of us. Get over yourself!"

My sisters ex boyfriend crashed into a tree, totaled his car and broke his nose all because he was texting while driving.

i text while stopped at a red light, that's it - i have a sidekick-type of phone, i need both hands for it - and those hands are on the wheel!

I never text, while driving or otherwise.

And yes, it's incredibly dangerous since you're taking your eyes off the road even more than just talking on the phone.

no. I dont text often, so when I do, I give it my full attention.

I know I'm not good enough at it to even consider it, and even if I was, it would only be at a red light b/c I'm a spaz.

Yes...it's terrible, but I do.

I'm trying to cut down on the texting all together.

My husband does and I could strangle him every time he does it. Drives me insane - not to mention the hazard it imposes.

I am guilty of texting a red light, once, in a blue moon...If it's not important, it can wait until I get home.

Whenever I'm tempted to do something like that in my car I stop and think:

Is this critical?

How would I feel if I got in an accident because of this?

And if the answers are no and awful, I don't do it.

That goes for checking my reflection, drinking my coffee, texting, talking on the cell, reaching for my purse, etc.

IMO, it's just as bad as DUI - you aren't giving your full attention to the road.

Question – WHY are you reading your texts while driving????

I mean I am against cell phones in general at this point but I love how people text and drive which is HORRIBLE and no one asks.. why are you HOLDING YOUR PHONE and reading it to BEGIN WITH??!??!?!?!

I thought we were hands free?

I HATE, HATE, HATE people who use their cell phone and drive, period. I pull over or talk in a parking lot and if I am expecting a call and I’m driving I always say “I’m sorry, I’m driving right now can I call you right back?” pull over and make the call. I don’t even own a blue tooth, why bother you should be talking and driving period.

I was ranting about people taking their phones to the bathroom to talk and text today. I don’t understand why oh why we seem to believe we just can’t exist without our cell phones. Oh we can’t have subways without cell service?, Oh we can’t have a establishment in a dead zone?, Oh we can’t understand why we can’t use our cells in hospitals and airplanes?

GET OVER IT.

Hang up your freaking phones, look around at the world and realize you’re not some superperson impervious to all because of your stupid electronic device! Your isolation doesn’t mean people will just give you space or ignore you, we can hear you and see you and you are an annoyance to all of us. Don’t get pissy when one of us gives you a look or shushes you. You are not GOD because you have a phone, just a God-damned a$shole!
