Nope, i get my neighbor's mail half the time so he can't possibly be spending that much attention to detai.
last year i left a bottle of wine with a card attached for him (i don't know his name and never see him). He just left it there. i thought that was in poor taste. He could've easily taken it and given it to someone else if he didn't like it.

We used to tip our regular guy, but they switched his route and now we have part timers deliver the mail. It seems as if there's a new person every day and the mail comes whenever they feel like it.

NO! They do not go above and beyond in anyway. And I believe legally they aren't allowed to except gifts anyway.

this is our first year in our house and we did tip her. She was very appreciative and rang the door bell to say thank you. However, if I was dissatisfied with my mail person I wouldn't tip them either.

i do...mine takes everything for me, so it saves me many trips to the post office that i dont have to drag 2 kids out to go to, so i am so grateful for that

I have never tipped the mailman at our current house. This year I had some extra $5 D&D GC - so I gave him one. I hope that doesn't seem too cheap?
We get the wrong mail almost every day and it drives me crazy! (we live on Dr. and we get Ct. ail all the time - and Ct. sent us over our son's school bus information, so I don't know what else gets lost over there)

Nope! First off, I do not see the reason to tip the mailman..they are doing their job. Plus, I never get my mail. We have a similar block in the area and my mail is ALWAYS getting lost

Well I didn't give a cash tip - I gave a card and a box of chocolates - I feel like I shouldh have given more though....
being that I know the girl - but I did what I could.

i just bought a Dunkin Donuts giftcard today and will put it in a card in the mailbox for him to take... i don't see him during the day so that will have to do. i don't put stuff in my mailbox all the time but he always takes it when I do, and when we moved in he was really friendly and introduced himself and everything.

i am giving a card with either a scratch off or a extra bottle of wine. NOT giving cash since i really don't think he goes beyond his normal duties.
garbage men on the other hand have taken MANY things they shouldn't have and nicely place our cans on our lawn so they don't blow away so get a little cash since we can't afford much.

No - why would I? I know it is to be nice, but it is not like he brings the mail to me while I lie in bed and opens each piece for me and reads it aloud while I drink a cup of tea! I work for the government and no one tips me!!!
