Do you think you would like being famous?

I was out in a posh department store in the village where I work, and in the shoe department with me was a girl who is quite a big local celebrity WAG (she is the girlfriend of Manchester Uniteds Wayne Rooney) and all around her people were whispering..."There's Colleen" I felt bad for her, all she was doing was shopping, you know, but nonetheless, I don't think I would enjoy that kind of attention (and I am a big attention lover)

So my question is this...are the Bentleys, thoroughbred horses, gorgeous clothes, cash, rich boyfriend a good trade off for having no privacy and being stared at all the time???

What thinketh you?

I think there's a reason why most BIG celebs become cuckoo.

I really do love my life. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

i would like the money but i wouldnt like people following me all the time and taking pics. i'd go nuts and eventually go off on people!

The only thing I would like is not having to worry about money......but the truth is famous people overspend and most end up in bankruptcy anyway............. SO, no...... I def. would not want to be famous....

I'm with ya!!

I always tell DH, if I get 15 minutes of fame, I want it to be for a Madeline Albright or Ruth Bader Ginsberg moment. I don't see too many people following them around department stores.

I think id enjoy it .. im a huge attn who-a
it woudl be annoying at times but i think the benefits outwieigh the negatives

but i have no talents to exploit and im already married so i can't marry into fame.. so im stuck being a plain jane that noone talks about

I don't know if I would mind being followed on foot but once I'm in my car if I was being swarmed, I'd think there'd be more casualties than Britney's caused!!!

And not because I'd try to run anyone over but people around my car would make me very nervous about driving.

I think I would enjoy it.

But I would want to be classy-famous, a la Julia Roberts and Gwenyth Paltrow.

Not trashy-famous like Paris or Lindsey.

No way! I hate being in the spotlight, and I'm insanely protective of my privacy.

I'd be one of those celebs who constantly gets in trouble for beating up paparazzi.

not worth the money for me. i am a pretty private person and i know i could never handle being openly judged all the time.

funny thing is, if she were shopping here, I'd probably be ONE of very few that would recognize her.

I kinda "know" (or rather "knew" when I was a teenager) John Turturro.

He lives in my neighborhood and used to buy his kids little league and soccer uniforms at this small sporting good store I worked at.

He was very nice and EXCESSIVELY SHY. he would smile and say "hi, how are you" and such and I never made a big deal or asked for an autograph b/c you could see a majillion miles away how uncomfy he seemed.

anywho, I saw him in the bagel store one morning and was standing behind him in line. he turned to say "hi" to me and that was it. there where 2 women standing behind me that were "whispering" "OMG is that JT.."blah blah blah. I felt so bad for him b/c his EARS were turning 17 shades of red.

I think it depends on the personality. I would probably have the Scarlet Johanssen approach, more than a Lindsay Lohan one.

I would LOVE the money, but you wouldn't see my cooch everywhere.

Sure I would- for a few days or so. After that, I would probably be so overwhelmed, I'd turn into a crack addict & a whore- sleeping with every hot guy in Hollywood.

No, I wouldn't enjoy being famous.

It may sound of odd, but I know what it's like to have people talk and whisper about you and I personally don't enjoy it. When I'm dressed up and in heels, A LOT of people talk about me, approach me, make comments, point, etc.. Don't misunderstand me...it's not because I think I'm goodlooking or anything like that. I know the talk is related to my being really tall. (I warned my DH when we first started dating of all the crap I deal with and he had no idea until people started approaching him directly about me. Now he knows and understands.)

I know what I have to put up with, so I can only imagine what famous people deal with.

hmmm. i honestly don't know. i'd like to say that i could be one of those stars that doesn't let fame "go to their head," but in all truthfullness i couldn't say until i was actually living that life. i have no idea what it would be like. but yes, i think i'd like to try.

It depends on the level of celebrity. I wouldn't mind being a B-list celeb with all of the $$$ and fabulous perks if it meant I would have to do deal with whispers and stares. I could not handle super A-list status like Britney, Paris, Lindsey, Angelina, Victoria Beckham, ect.

funny, DH and I were just talking about this recently.

we agreed that if we were celebs, we'd have to move to Idaho or some other obscure place so we could have privacy.

not sure we could handle it, but I would like to find out!
