Do you think this is a stomach virus? No other symptoms.
Almost 2yo DS acts totally fine and is his happy self all day. He eats and drinks fine all day, no fever, no other symptoms.
We had a play date on FRIDAY with a boy who later had a stomach virus. His mom told us he started having a fever, diarrhea and vomit AFTER he left our apt. She thinks he got it from his nanny who called out sick because of a stomach virus.
Sat night - after a perfect day, DS throws up all over the bed right when he is about to sleep
Sun night - another absolutely perfect day, DS throws up all over the bed when he is about to sleep
Mon and Tues - totally fine
Wed - after perfect morning, DS throws up all over bed when he is about to nap
Do you think he has a stomach virus?
DH was speculating milk was bad but it seems so sporadic. We got new milk.

DD had this but she vomited like 6 times in 12 hrs. I knew once the second vomit came it was a virus. She had zero other symptoms and was better next day. HTH

I am thinking no.....if he had a virus, he would be throwing up much more often
ETA: I have also heard that 2yr molars coming in can cause a child to vomit....could be that?

When DS had the virus it was continous vomitting for 8 hours straight then nothing. When I spoke to the ped she mentioned that sporadic vomitting like what you are explaining is a possible sign that it's strep. You can have strep with no fever either.
I would give your ped a call. I had no idea that it could mean strep.

DS's birthday party is this Saturday. I really don't want him to be sick.
I hope this ends soon. Sigh.

It could be a stomach virus. When DS had a stomach virus, it was not all at once violent vomiting... it was spread out over the course of maybe a full week... one throw up here... one diarraeh next day... couple days OK... one throw up again... Ped said it can be better when they have it spread out like that rather than all at once and get dehydrated.

It could be a virus. My DS had one once where he only threw up twice over 24 hrs, and acted fine in between. (Unlike many viruses where there's like a 12 hr period of really frequent vomiting)
I will say though that I'm not sure if he caught it from the playdate kid. From last Friday to this Wed. is a pretty long incubation period for a stomach virus-- normally the whole household comes down iwth it within a couple days of each other, kwim?

Re: Do you think this is a stomach virus? No other symptoms.
DD had a stomach virus like is a few weeks ago. Went on for about 4 or 5 days. She would eat breakfast, be fine. East lunch. Be fine. Come bedtime, she would start to feel nauseas and throw up.
I remember when I was younger, I had a few viruses like this as well, where I only threw up once or twice a day for three days or so....
Hope he feels better soon!

DS has gone on 1 other play date, went to open play and 2 other classes since Friday. I guess he could have caught something at the other places as well, not necessarily the Friday play date.

If he got sick for the first time on Saturday, it sounds like he could have caught the bug from the Fri playdate. He might just be handling it a little better or it could just be a milder case.

Ooops, my mistake, I missed the part about throwing up on Sat. Then it's almost definitely from the playdate kid.
