I'm really not sure. I was sick Monday and Tuesday, and only went to work yesterday though. I'll take two 4 day weekends lol

I think it's 50/50. Some areas yes and some no. I know by me the plowing is always terrible and it takes us longer to get all the areas cleared. It's also suppose to be really icy tomorrow. I'm voting no for my district (three village).

I would assume NYC will be. We rarely get a snow day as is so two in a row is unheard of.

In my district I don't think so. We had cuts to our custodial staff last year and they are under staffed. I don't think they will be able to clear every walkway, every door, and parking lot plus the side streets are a huge mess and with temperatures dropping I think it's going to be very icy.

They already announced NYC schools will be open tomorrow.

I think it's going to be tough for schools to open tomorrow. There's a ton of snow out there, and it's still coming down. I was out shoveling earlier, its heavy and wet and there's a thick layer of slush underneath it all. Temperatures are going to drop and it isn't t supposed to go above freezing tomorrow.....

While I do understand that school being closed makes it hard for working parents, if the roads are not safe for students and staff to make it to the schools that has to be the first priority. I teach special education and my students have been on the bus for over 4 hours getting home because we didn't close. When school is open I leave extra early on snow days to make sure that I am there for my students. I grew up with a single mom and it was so hard on snow days but if the roads are bad tomorrow Schools really need to consider the safety first.

I just wish private businesses would consider safety first and not make their employees come in either
That would solve the problem of working parents as well

Not to mention DD was excited for a Father/Daughter dance tomorrow night.
Effing snow.
I don't understand how anyone enjoys this crap. It's super inconvenient and life disrupting.
And now I have a very disappointed little one on top of being trapped in this house all day.
Yay for winter.
