Re: Do you skip the pedicure massage?
I def do not skimp on the foot massage. I just tell them to be careful of any trigger points b/c I'm pregnant and they watch out.
Tell them to concentrate mostly on the ball & heel of your feet, and calves. I tell them to watch out for the ankles and the sides...( I think on the side of the ankle it where a trigger point is to induce labor)

Re: Do you skip the pedicure massage?
not a chance in he!!
Before I was showing, I used to tell them so that they were careful around my ankles and between my toes which I read here are reflexology points that can trigger labor- but then when I went Friday, the lady said something about the heel too

I never skipped the massage! In a few more weeks I might even tell them to focus on the ankles so maybe it will speed thing up a little hahaha

Re: Do you skip the pedicure massage?
Nope, they just aren't supposed to rub certain parts...I think your ankle? The people are usually pretty good at avoiding them.

Re: Do you skip the pedicure massage?
no & to be honest, i dont think they could really hit the pressure point THAT right on to induce labor.... i'd love to hear from someone on here that it happened to b/c im not convinced that they are THAT good

Re: Do you skip the pedicure massage?
I do because several weeks ago, the guy giving me a pedi told me that the massage may actually trigger contractions....same for the mani hand massage!

Re: Do you skip the pedicure massage?
I've been avoiding it even though I'm sure it would be fine... I'm just paranoid .. although I feel a little better about it being out of the 1st tri- plus, my place doesn't overload the foot massage during a pedi anyway.
Ever since getting pregnant, I've just told them to cut/file and polish. It's also cheaper that way!!

Re: Do you skip the pedicure massage?
No that's my favorite part! Sometimes I pay for an extra 10 minutes
I think the reason some people do skip it is because there is a myth that it may cause uterine contractions. I don't believe that our bodies are so delicate that a leg massage could trigger labor. Otherwise the salon would be full of women at 38 weeks trying to get the little ones out, lol.
