Do you RSVP to a kid party on the RSVP date?

DS's birthday party is 6/11. Invitations went out on 5/20 and the RSVP date is 6/5 (tomorrow). We invited DS's entire nursery class - 21 kids. As of today, only 4 kids have responded. Do the parents typically wait until the very last minute to respond? Should I have sent out the invitations earlier? I'm a little stressed because DS is really looking forward to his party and he'll be disappointed if his buddies aren't there

I always RSVP as soon as I get an invite. I look at the calendar and see if we're free. Period. The end.

I'm with you though. I have to ask other people if they're coming to dds party. Her party is 6/18 and RSVP date was yesterday 6/3. Thankfully I only had a few I was waiting on.

Do you have everyone's emails that you can send a bcc email to everyone with a picture of the invite and send it as a RSVP reminder?

Like my twin, previous poster, i rsvp...asap lol. Look at my calendar if nothing is planned. I respond!

I got so streesed with the last couple of parties I threw. I swore off birthday parties for my two until a couple more years hahah

No. I typically don't wait until the last day. I am sure there have been times I have, but I try not to. Especially if I am sure I will or will not be there. If I dont respond right away it's usually because I don't know if I am going to be able to make it.

Summer is a low RSVP "yes" time.
We had a classmate reschedule & then cancel a birthday :(
DS typically has a low RSVP rate too (August birthday) vs DD (January birthday with a 100% yes rate).
Just get after people. If you evited.... Send the reminder!

Good friend and we are free - I RSVP yes right away.

If it is the winter, I RSVP yes right away.

If it is a good weather month and we don't know the child very well, I wait. We may go away. We may want to go boating or take a day trip somewhere.

My children's birthdays are in late March. Depending on the year and when Easter/spring break falls, attendance varies. I feel like we always get 50-75% attendance but then there are always siblings.

Its so frustrating. I rsvp the day I get the invitation. We had a party last sunday (memorial day weekend). I rsvp yes because I knew my dd would want to go. I really didn't feel like sitting in someones backyard I don't know but I did it for my dd.

I invited my whole dd K class. Out of 27 kids only 7 have rsvp. No tomorrow I'll have to call everyone.

I always write an rsvp date on my calendar that's several days before the actual date if I don't respond right away. Sometimes

Most people did not respond for my son's party. Some people responded the last day or the day after. For that reason I have been replying as soon as I get an invitation.

I usually always respond within a week of receiving an invite. I'll be honest though, there was one invite for a friend's daughter's party that I waited till a few days before the rsvp date. I had just given birth and I honestly forgot. So it may happen that people wait till the last minute, especially since it's the summer.

Same exact thing happened to us!
I had asked his teachers to remind the Parents to rsvo
And she also made a Reminder sign next to the sign in sheet

It helped and almost all his fiends came to his party!

I've only recently started trying to RSVP ASAP (due to seeing people complain on LIF). In the past, I would often not RSVP until the date and expected most others to do the same. I figured that date was set for a reason so it made no difference when you respond as long as it's by/on that day. I will say for DDs parties I usually only have a few last minute responses though, although just about everyone did RSVP yes or no.

Yes, and for parties I've held, I find that most parents rsvp the very last minute (and even after). It's not that I forget, it just isn't a priority.

I RSVP the day I get an invite. I check my calendar, make a decision, and then RSVP right away so that I don't forget.

I find that in general, most people completely suck when it comes to RSVP'ing. It's such a small, considerate thing to do that many people just ignore and don't bother with.

I had a bunch of people recently RSVP on the actual RSVP date even though the invitations had gone out 4 weeks prior. I think many people put it on their calendar to RSVP by that date and then forget until they see it on the calendar that day.
