Do you like Macys?
I happen to like them..they usually have decent sales and I like many of the things I can buy there.
I got their new catalog in the mail and like a good cube mate offered it up to my colleague who proclaimed she hates Macys and only goes there for shoes.
She prefers Saks, Barneys and Bergdoff...yea, well me too..except that my budget is more geared to Macys, Off Fifth, Last call...etc...I actually love L&T and Nordstoms and Bloomies too and they have good sales.
Is Macys trash or is she just being a stuck up B?
Then I see her on the express website buying some after season summer dresses..
so you buy from Express, but not from Macys?
I guess this was just another vent about my colleague who doesn't live in reality.

Well, I don't like Macy's...but I have had problems with them regarding my credit card. So I closed my account and decided to take my business elsewhere. Their clothes are fine, but they don't have high end brands like Wacoal (which I need to wear since I'm a 34 DDD), so it's not like I could shop for everything in one place there anyways.

yes, I agree with that for sure.
It's not my favorite place ever but they will run good sales and I've gotten some nice things.
I just thought the comment was very snotty.
I know what she makes..she can't afford to shop Bergdorf either.

I have to admit that I am not a fan of Macy's. It is not that I am neccesarily opposed to shopping there I just never really like anything they have and it never occurs to me to really go in there. I ususally go to Bloomingdales or Nordstrom.
Back before I was married with kids I used to shop mostly at Saks and Bergdorffs but those days are gone (for now)

I like Macy's for myself sometimes. Shoes, accessories, clothes. I like the home department and bought a lot of furniture there.
I'm not a fan for DH's clothes, or for kids' clothes over the age of 24 months.
I hate the coupon crap. Why not just put a decent price on the products to begin with and can the 4594837 coupons I get in the mail? Most of the time they aren't even valid on anything I want.

I'm not a high-end clothes person (have never set foot in Bergdorf's etc) so what do I know about clothes really... but I like Macy's. I've gotten some good deals there when they have sales, stuff for me, DH, and baby clothes too. Their coupon system is a joke, anything that would actually be a big savings with the coupon is inevitably excluded, but aside from that I have no complaints, I go there a few times a year.

I love Macys. I like that I can get something for me, my husband, my son and stuff for my house. I have the Macys Amex card and I love that they send me coupons and everytime I use it I gain points, which they then send me a $25 gift certificate. Also I love their ornaments for christmas.

I have a like/hate with Macy's. Herald Square gives me a headache, ( so many sections 7 floors , cna't find things) but I have good luck there with dresses & underthings.
The White Plains & Yonkers ones are awful.
I kinda like the Sunrise Mall one (haven't been there in a while though).
I do have a Macy's card though & love the sales & discounts.
By the way, you know your co-worker is going to wear those summer dress in the middle of winter!

Hate it! If not for shoes I would never go in there.
Yes they send coupons, but the have a dozen restrictions so you can rarely use them. The stores are always a mess.
I like Bloomingdales and L&T so much more!
ETA it's not that I think one is high class or anything. Macy's just annoys me every transaction is a hassle

She even said it!!!!! she was buying summer dresses for the fall and winter..that's why she was going for the green one not the white one..that was too summery. They were strapless. Then she asked her boss in a kidding way if she could wear it to the office. She wore the black one she owns already to the office. Yes, a black summer strapless dress.
So annoying..she is a grown up.

Big fan of Macy's.
Always have great sales on shoes. And great sales in general. I like their own brand of clothes too. They always have coupons too.
The only downside is that some stores are hit and miss... some stores are dity and not well-stocked (ie... the Bay Shore store).

I like Macys! Moving to the south made me appreciate Macys more. We have Belk and JCP, and they don't really cut it.

It's always very crowded...they do have some great sales, but I rarely go there. I prefer Bloomies over Macys anyday.

Not a fan. All the restrictions on the coupons are very annoying, plus it always seems like a lot of the clothes are lying on the floor in the children's dept in the one near me, which totally puts me off.

i'm fine with it as an average dept store and can usually find some good deals there if i need to. I go to either the Roosevelt Field or Herald Square ones.
Bloomies is too high priced for me usually, so i definitely can't even entertain the idea of going to Saks or Nordstrom (although i have gone there for formal wear)
