Do you leave for work the same time as your neighbors?
I've noticed that myself, and the guys on either side of my house leave for work within a few minutes of each other most days. Whenever I see that, I think of Edward Scissorhands, or any other "exaggerated suburbia life" scene, where all the cars back out of the driveway in unison, and all come back in formation.  Has anyone else seen that?

lol, not on my block. Almost everyone is retired. DH is the only one who has a consistent work schedule. The other 2 people who live on the block have odd schedules

No, the guy who drives the ice cream van seems to leave much earlier than I do....
But no, I don't see my neighbours leave the house in the morning. They must work flexi time.

I live in a courtyard and it's funny you mention that bc it is so true,,there are a cple of us each day at the same time

No way. I'm convinced Im the first one to leave in the morning at about 5:50am.... definitely one of the last to get home too at 6:50pm.

The only people who leave at the same time as me and DH is our next door neighbor.
She carpools, and every single morning the carpool SUV is idling right in front of our driveway, blocking it. And every single morning, the driver rolls his eyes as he sees us open the garage and get in our car, and makes a big production of pulling up in front of the neighbor's house. I don't get his attitude. I mean, I'd rather he move his car with an attitude than not move it at all and cause a problem, but why be annoyed at us? HE parks in front of OUR driveway! And we go through this every day - maybe he should just wait in front of the neighbor's house in the first place?

our neighbor takes the same train as us.. so we sometimes leave together, follow each other to the train station, park near each other and walk there together
even funnier is that he works in the same building as i do, so we take the subway together after getting into penn
we say hi and chat sometimes, most of the time we give each other space though

I usually recognize the same people taking the elevators in the morning and pulling their cars out of the garage...... I'm a teacher so I usually see lots of kids with backpacks in the elevator when I leave for work! Or, other teachers!

Not really, but we all seem to get home around the same time. The SAHM's call 5-6pm the "daddy hour" because all the men (and me) are getting home then and the kids need to be careful playing in the cul-de-sac

People on my block are all over the place--DH is probably one of the earliest to leave, and one other guy down the block leaves around the same time. I'm a SAHM, so we're home until 9-9:30 or so most days. Our neighbors on either side are retired, some neighbors are out of work, one guy is in sales and works all kinds of hours.

I have one neighbor that I leave with in the am. But for the most part DH & I leave earlier then most on our block
