Do you have too much stuff?

Like when you get home from shopping you say, "Hmmm where can I stick this", are your closets BURTSING? No room in your dresser? or do you throw things out constantly and have nothing laying around?

I hate clutter...I throw everything out but I STILL always feel like we have too much stuff!

OMG . . . I have issues- I can't part with ANYTHING because things either end up with some sentimental value attached to them or "I might use, need this one day."

I wish I was given the "just throw it out" gift . . .

DH tells me that every time that I buy a pair of shoes that I should throw out a pair. Yeah, my closet is jam packed...

I am trying my best to keep the clutter down to a minimum. I guess I'm not doing as great as I thought - I always seem to get rid of lots of crap

I finally did the throwing away of clothes/shoes thing but we still have clutter everywhere!!

It's funny you should ask this today because this weekend we're cleaning my room. It's been awful since I moved down here 2 years ago. yes 2 years. I had a much larger room upstairs and it was laid out better. Then last year when FH moved into his apt I gave him my furniture and took my grandma's which is bulkier, and I also gave FH my bookshleves, so I have nothing to do with books and knicknacks. You couldn;t even walk in my room until yesterday, and yesterday we took out like 3 bags of recycling, 2 bags of garbage, one bag of donation and 2 bags of laundry, and honestly, there's still about 4x as much crap in here as this room can hold. Upstairs I had a huge closet. I think that's what's killing me the most, no closet. But I'm really trying to thrwo stuff out. I'd love to not be so cluttered.

Oh and FH is just like OTG. He won't throw ANYTHING out. We got intoa huge fight once years ago because he had about a hundred or so pens in a big cup and I was going through them and throwing away the ones that didn't work and I swear to god he wanted to kill me. He won't throw anything out. I can't stand it. Even clothes rthat dont fit or are totally out of style (not like, last year's jeans, as in stuff from 7th grade!). And now his gradnparents died and we got a lot of their stuff pushed on us because his mom is like him, she wouldnlt throw away or donate anything...so now we ahve stuff of his grandma's like a coffee table that we agreed to take before we had picked an apt, and it totally doesn't fit in the apt AT ALL and now it's just cluttering up the laundry room. Uggh. Also, Fh will keep magazines that are years old b/c he might read them one day. and he won't throw out any issue of his 15 years of Nintendo Power. And forget it with anything electrical. If there's a wire or something, he'll keep it cause he thinks we'll need it someday. And the boy has FOUR computers, and I had to fight with him to get them out of the bedroom and puit them in the walk in closet next to the dek to run the wires under the door so i didn't have to look at them all day!!!! That's why whenw e move in together I've gotta ge a laptop of a G5, I'm not going to bring tower #5 into that apartment!

Clutter king and queen living here in my place!!! We have a tiny apartment and ONE closet!!! Our closet is basically throwing up clothes. We have bins with clothes under the bed, an armoire, and two dressers full of clothes, those stackable drawers filled with clothes. Waaaay too much. We need more room. And thats only clothes, we have other junk stored under the futon, under the coffee table, just EVERYWHERE!! I can't wait to move, having another closet is gonna make me cry one day!!!

I have too much stuff for this stupid one bedroom apartment we live in, but I think I have a normal amount of stuff in general. I do a sorting of all the crap I don't use or wear every few months and donate as much of it as I can. I am extremely organized, so it would kill me to have too much stuff.

I think we're somewhere in between. My DH definitely has more stuff than I do. The garage and basement are full of what I call junk but those are his areas so I keep my mouth shut.

We clean out fairly often but probably not often enough.

I definitely don't like a lot of clutter.

my only clutter is clothes.

i part easily with them when there is no room. i also do a yearly throw out session.
so its somewhat cluttered, but not horrible.

I was going to write the same thing. I throw out everything and hate clutter yet all our draws and closets are packed with stuff!

We don't have too much stuff, we just don't have enough space! DH called from Costco yesterday to see what we needed and I had to tell him not to buy half the stuff he wanted. We just don't have room for 20 rolls of paper towels!

We are both packrats, and save everything! DH is worse than me. Getting him to part with anything is like pulling teeth. It gets so frustrating. He always says that one day we need a house with an extra room just for all of our "stuff".

I save some stuff but DH...OMG..he saves a lot and then complains that we have no room.

I don't keep anything. DH gets mad when I rebuy something because I threw it out a few months back.

Yes we do!!!! But we are constantly throwing stuff out! We are packrats but within reason....we keep only things that are of sentimental value.

But sometimes DH will buy something and I am like where are you going to put that and he says - in the closet! Well then why did you buy it!?!?! I am scared of the day when we have a house and he buys things just to have in the closet and the whole house is full!

No...I throw everything out. If you leave it where it doesn't belong....I throw it out. DH holds onto things....but I throw it out when he's not around. He will never know the difference....my rule is if I haven't used it or needed it in all this time...I don't need it now or will never need it. I hate clutter.

I have so much crap that I have gathered it up in one place and we are going to have a garage sale in a few weeks!! Some of the stuff is still in boxes from when we moved into the house 3 YEARS AGO!!!!

DH is more of a pack rat then I am. When we first to move to our apt now we threw out so much of his crap now fast forward to a year and a half later and we now have a new set of crap!

No, I HATE clutter!!! Most of our stuff is well organized and out of sight. The only 'bad' parts are the book cases- there are three, and I would like to put doors on them; and the computer desk. I would like to get an armoire style desk so its not all hanging out there.

I don't think I have too much stuff, but I good probably throw out a little more.

I don't have a lot of clothing. Besides the fact that dh & I share 1 small closet, I don't like to keep my clothes, b/c I change my mind about what I like frequently , or I get too fat & don't want to be reminded of how I used to be.

I also hate to have paper lying around. I like the desk to be cleaned off. A shredder is a great thing. SO, we aren't really cluttered, but a little messy-when things are back where they belong, it isn't too bad, considering we dont' really have much storage space.
