Do you have pets?
I didn't want to post this in the Pets section, because it's a pretty safe bet that everyone posting in there has a pet.... 
We currently have one dog, but over the years, we've had several dogs, several cats, a couple of rats, some fish, and a hamster.

1 dog Sometimes I joke to DH that we should get another one, but realistically we have our hands full with one, a 7 year old, and a baby on the way.

My cat died late last year and we had the other two. I didn't want to get another...my kitty and I were best friends and my heart was shattered. Completely, devastatingly shattered.
A few months ago my husband was in front of our house...there was a kitten, a few months old, just sleeping on our front steps. She was friendly to him and followed him into the yard. We kept her in the yard for a few days, built her a little shelter and all...she stuck around. By the middle of that week I couldn't stop thinking about her. We brought her to the vet and had her checked out - clean bill of health.
She's now sitting next to me on the couch, purring and playing. She is the spitting image of the kitty that passed away last year, my Mudd. It's eerie.
I didn't want a new cat. I especially didn't want one that looked like he did. But I guess it was meant to be!

Currently 2 cats... being begged for a 3rd.
I've had dogs. I prefer large dogs since my step mother made me hate small dogs. Still like to have one large dog, but know currently, it's not an option.
I've had fish, parrots, spiders, snakes, rats, frogs, aquatic frogs, lizards, ferrets, turtles, rabbits, chickens, goats, mice, gerbils, hamsters, hermit crabs and even an ant farm. Other stuff I'm sure. If you can feed it, look at it or it can be kept alive, I've probably had it. I think my Dad thought I'd grow up to be a vet. Meh, I had no issue with the death of animals or fixing them up. Just hated to hear them scream. Absolutely unnerves me. So I don't think I could ever be a vet. Suffering of animals would tear me up.

1 cat. I NEVER had a cat, never wanted one. We promised Lara when we moved we would get her one. I was not too crazy about it. I can tell you I never knew I could love animal so much. I constantly hug and kiss him. Sometimes more than my kids

Two hours after we brought DS home from the hospital, he started crying, she didn't know WHAT the heck it was and scratched him in the face. We were stupid because we should have gotten her acclimated better. She lives with my parents now and is alpha cat over there. Once we get a house we'll bring her back home.
