Do you have a nap time routine for your DC?

DS STTN and usually is a great napper, but for the last week or so he refuses to go down even though he's screaming for sleep. My ped recommended a nap time routine (we happened to be at the ped for a well visit when I mentioned his lack of napping lately). Does anyone have one?

DS will be 4mo next week.

we do but its very basic and simple. go into her room, lights off with sound machine on. quiet voices while i change her diaper and put her in a thin sleepsack (used to be swaddle). i hold her over my shoulder and sway side to side a bit while either singing one song or shushing and patting her back. it takes about 5 minutes or so....after 5 minutes she gets very calm and still, starts staring off into the distance and i put her down and walk out of the room.

i would say at around the 1.5 hrs since he last woke up, you should start to wind him down. My DS did what your DS is doing and i started making sure i would "prepare" him for his nap ahead of time so not to get him too crazy and overtired.
We would go in his room and i would sit w/ him on my lap and read him some books. Keep the lighting dim. Then i would just rock him to get sleepy but not to sleep. i would then lay himin his crib. This took time. I had to "nap train" him.

DS is really into eat play nap. At 6 months he still takes 3 naps.

In the AM he wakes, eats plays in exersaucer until he has had enough then naps.

He wakes up, we play, hang out, (run errands) eat, play, then put own for a nap. (repeat in evening)

He naps in his swing.

The morining nap is the most routine for naps. But other than that it isnt like bed time, bath book bed.

at 4 month yep! I even gave a quick soapless bath!

At 9m, I plop him in the crib and say, "sleepy baby go to sleep, night night" and 9/10 he's turns to his side and closes his eyes and goes to sleep, that 1/10 time he decides he's going to have a dance party.

DD is 3 months. When I think it's time for a nap <she's cranky and can't be hungry> I take her to the rocker, put a pacifier in and rock her a bit before putting her in the crb. If she needs a little more attention I'll rub her belly for a second...
