Do you give your babysitter dinner?
Those of you who have evening/night time babysitters for when you go out...do you leave them $ to order in, leave them food?
The last couple times I have left $ for her to order herself dinner in?
Is this the norm???
eta: Im talking if you have her come around 4 and she is staying till 11 or 12.

I doubt that leaving her money to order food is the norm!
Although I always told my nanny to eat whatever she wanted in the refrigerator but she rarely did.

We mostly have had babysitters during the day (we have had family babysit at night). We usually ask them what they want for lunch and get it for them (cold cuts, etc). We also always tell them to help themselves to anything in the refrigerator.

One does and one doesn't.

I tell her to help herself to anything she wants in the house. One time I hadn't been food shopping, so I left her money and a few take out menus to choose from.

I always leave her money for food if she's here over dinner time. If she comes past 6:30ish, I tell her to eat before she comes and I feed the kids first. In addition to dinner, I always remind her that she's welcome to anything in the house and to help herself.

Thanks everyone I'll continue to do what I'm doing. If she's here for when the kids eat I'll leave money. Tom she is coming at 430 I'm going to leave money for pizza!

We always leave money for them to order food. But all our babysitters (or dogsitters) are either family members or friends. Don't know if that makes a difference.

We always get dinner for her and DS, either pizza delivered at a certain time and we pay already or we pick up food.

When I used to babysit in HS on a friday & saturday night, the parents used to always leave me money to order a pizza & they'd eat the leftover. I thought it was really nice of them. I guess they didn't want to offer me to go through their cabinets or fridge? lol

when I'd show up the parents would have ordered pizza, and left the money for me pay.
one mom use to make me a dinner plate and she'd cover all them in the fridge.

no one babysits my daughter. I did that back when I had my twin brothers and sister (when they were younger)

I haven't had a real babysitter yet, but when we do, I plan on leaving money for them to call in food. I always appreciated when parents did that when I was the babysitter!

If the sitter is here when the kids eat, then yes. If not, then we tell her she is welcome to anything in the house.
Normally we have her come at 7:30pm though, so she eats before she comes. If we had something that required us to leave in the late afternoon or whatever, I'd leave money for pizza for her and the kids.
