Do you ever attend DH's family events without DH?
I feel like i do this all the time because of his work schedule. I mean i know them all and i get along great with everyone. But sometimes its just too much, especially on my own.
So am i the only one that does this or do you guys attend without your DH's or SO's too?

oh dont get me wrong...ive been with DH 11 years married for 1.5 of them so i know them all very well too. but sometimes i feel like i see DH's family more than he does.

I haven't had to go to big family function before without DH. But, I most definitely would if I had to.
(I go over to my FIL's all the time with DS, without DH, for visits)

I don't have to often, but I go on my own. They came to things like my bridal shower for me, it's only fair that I attend my ILs events if I can.
Just the way I look at it, but all families are different.

I have had to attend funerals and wakes without my dh as well as the obvious showers since there were no men. DH and I work opposite schedules so this happens with wakes and stuff. I thought I was going to have to do this with his nieces sweet sixteen but he decided to take the day off to go.

I've done it numerous times. Weddings, Christenings, Birthday parties...
DH used to bartend for a living so anytime there was a function, it was usually on a weekend or Friday night when he had to work.
I get along well with his family, though, so I have no problems going to anything.

I have a bunch of times. I even traveled to MA with just me and MIL for a wedding (neither of our guys went).
But, I don't think he would EVER go to something for my family without me. I couldn't see that happening!

Yes I have. I went to our niece's birthday alone because he was in a fishing tournament. I actually think I mingle more than he does. I get along with them well. DH likes my mom, but I have a much smaller family so I doubt he'd go to my events alone.

no, no and no. i am just not comfortable enough to do this yet. even when DH and i lived with his parents, and he was in georgia for training for 4 months, the few times i had dinner with his family (for whatever occasion) i just wasn't 100% comfortable.
ETA: although i should point out that they didn't make it any easier by making me feel guilty for spending time with my own parents. 
DH, on the other hand, seems to have no problem spending time with my family without me but he may just be better with "adults"

yup- whenever he can't make it. I get along w/ my ILs very well though- I've actually slept over there quite a few times to spend the weekend w/ them when DH is out of town for work.
