Do you eat fondant?
This comes up every time DH and I order a cake for any occasion. We love fondant, we both happen to prefer it to plain icing. MIL along with both of my parents scrape it off the cake like it's not edible. To me, it's almost my favorite part of the cake.
Am I a weirdo?

I love marshmallow fondant, but the regular kind, I’m not a big fan of. I do happen to prefer buttercream icing and when we order cakes my bakery does buttercream with fondant on top and it’s amazing! But of course you’ll have people who think that’s too much, so you can’t please everyone, so I say get what you like!

Nope. Not a fan of fondant. I always take it off the cake and just eat the cake. As pp poster said get what you like! It’s your party and cake!

We do order it regardless but I was wondering if it was strange to actually like it. It's mainly our parents at family parties that make us feel weird. I don't think anyone else would have the nerve to complain haha.

I didn't realize there was more than one type. We always get our cakes from our friend's bakery and I now wonder what type they make. I'm pretty sure they do put it over buttercream. I'll have to ask!

Every once in awhile I grab a box of cake mix and a can of frosting and make an old school cake (or cupcakes)
It's just so damn good! My middle layer of frosting on the cake is usually thin because I "taste test" the frosting hahaha
There's a girl at work who keeps a can of frosting at her desk for rough days. Genius.

I'm a cake decorator and I hate it. Ugh, it's so gross. But it's necessary for most cake designs. I actually like working with it, but ugh the taste! 
ETA: Marshmallow fondant is a little better but still gross IMO and a b!tch to work with!
