Do you drink during your 2WW?

With #1 I didn't, but this time I'm more relaxed. I'm not talking about getting drunk, just a drink or 2.

I think I may have a drink this weekend just in case it may be my last!!

definitely.
This has been posted many times. I carry on with life as usual during the TWW. I live my life as usual.
The only things I have given up indefinitely are smoking and tuna.

ITA! Definitly a must and same with smoking and I don't eat seafood anyway.
The first month I was stopping life but as the months go on I tend to have one drink every few days or so...until you see a BFP your not prego. Carry on!

Yes.

Until I get a BFP it's life as usual for me. I am proud to admit the only thing I put an end to prior to TTC is smoking.

Re: Do you drink during your 2WW?

I don't. My feeling is if I think I'm pregnant then I shouldn't be drinking. And I like to drink so for me it's a huge sacrifice.

I'm just curious, and I don't want to start a fight, but for those that give up smoking and not drinking, what's the difference? I'm not a smoker so I can't think like a smoker. But to me if you're giving up one why shouldn't you give up the other?

well i don't smoke, but my guess is that because smoking is VERY hard to quit! Some people can't just stop in one day! Chat Icon

But I read it as people give up smoking and not drinking during the 2WW. That's what I'm wondering about. Why do one and not the other? Again I'm not trying to flame anyone, I'm just asking. As far as I'm concerned it's an individual choice and you need to do what you feel is right.

During the 2WW having a drink or two is not going to make a difference if you are pregnant or not..you do not share anything with the fetus until 6 or 8 weeks. I've done lots of reading about smoking (I am ex smoker, but quit many years ago), and smoking can actually play a factor in a fertilized egg implanting or not. In addition, smoking can definately play a direct role in the quality of your eggs. Now that's not to say that you can't get pregnant if you are a smoker (and hopefully as soon as someone finds out they are pregnant they quit!), from reading past posts, I know there are quite a few ladies here that smoked right up until they got their BFP. Unless you are an extremly heavy drinker, I do not think a drink every now and then will harm the quality of your eggs, or be the cause of a fertlized egg not implanting.

Speaking for myself, I don't drink to the point where I become heavily intoxicated. I actually avoid getting to that point specifically due to the fact that I am TTC. When I said drinking I was referring to a glass of wine or a beer but that is as far as my drinking goes. I'm not going to start making life changing decisions until the day I see that BFP. As someone stated earlier in the post smoking is hard to quit. Also, from what I hear it can make women infertile but than again I know a lot of people who were heavy smokers, weren't trying and got pregnant so you just never know. IMO, it's a much healther decision to quit smoking if planning to get pg but I honestly don't see anything wrong with having a drink once in while IF NOT pg.

No hard feelings just wanted to speak from where I was coming from Chat Icon

Re: Do you drink during your 2WW?

If I am out, I will definitely have a drink or 2 during the 2 WW. I don't get drunk and agree with others who say that it's life as usual until I see a BFP.

Re: Do you drink during your 2WW?

In the beginning I was careful, didn't drink too much. Now, I will change when I see that BFP. I'm tired of living the "what-if" lifeChat Icon

Same here. For all I know it could take years to get pg so that means I would never have a drink!Chat Icon
