Re: do you cook for yourself if dh is not going to be home?
I work late a lot and get home after my DH. I cook all our Mon - Thurs dinners on Sundays and put them in individual Tupperware, so they just need to be heated up when we get home. I think this combats unhealthy eating, too, since when you get home it's already done.

Re: do you cook for yourself if dh is not going to be home?
Usually not. Unless I stay at my mom's (we're neighbors) and cook for her and my grandma. But more likely than not I'll either go out to eat w/ them, get take in, have cereal or skip dinner all together.

Re: do you cook for yourself if dh is not going to be home?
I have some of my best dinners when he's not home! Usually I cook something that I really like but he doesn't particularly enjoy. Preferrably something that makes a ton of leftovers so that I have lunch for days!

Re: do you cook for yourself if dh is not going to be home?
Before we had kids we never ate dinner together so we both would get take out every night.
Now I have to cook for the kids, so it doesn't matter that he's not around for dinner.

Re: do you cook for yourself if dh is not going to be home?
When DH isn't home, I get so much cooking done!! I usually prepare things for later in the week - I'll make a pizza dough or cook up some soup or put together something else that would take me away from spending time with him otherwise. But since I get home and I'm usually hungry right away (he cooks most nights) I'll heat up leftovers, nuke something from the freezer or a lot of times he'll leave dinner for me (make double whatever he had).

Re: do you cook for yourself if dh is not going to be home?
i'm on my own for dinner 5 nights a week... generally i just eat soup, eggs, pierogues, something simple. every once in a while, i'll cook a meal and then make up tupperware's of left overs so that he can bring them the following couple of nights.

Re: do you cook for yourself if dh is not going to be home?
Kevin works late so every night I'm on my own for dinner. I don't cook a meal for myself, I'll find something in the fridge or freezer to make, something small for just me. Sometimes it's a sandwich or left overs. When Kevin gets home I make him a big salad.
We really only cook on the weekends when we're both home to enjoy it.

DH works a couple of nights a week. Usually, I'll just do soup, eggs or a sandwich when he's not around. Sometimes I'll get a big pretzel on my way home and that will be dinner as well.

If it's just for me, I ususally have soup or something. If it's for me & DD, then I'll usually cook.
