Do you change anything during the two week wait?

I was wondering what most of you ladies do during the two week wait period. Do you go about your life as usual or do you change things as if you are pregnant.

For example: I would like to lose some weight if I am not pregnant. Should I start dieting a little or should I wait and see if I get my period?

or this week.... should I would like to have something to drink at thanksgiving...

and lastly, I had a terrible headache last night... we only have advil in the house. I didn't take it because I know you aren't supposed to have advil while pregnant. Would you have taken it?

Just wondering what everyone does.

Thanks for info!!

Do you change anything during the two week wait?

I would have taken it... in fact one of my bff's just found out she's 3 months preggo (don't ask, she only gets AF 4 times a year at the most and wasn't expecting to get preggo), and she's got major slipped discs in her neck along with pinched nerves (she's likely going to need surgery) and her doc told her to keep taking Aleve, which is in the same family of medications as Advil, just stronger, so I would have taken it...

I am trying NOT to change anything during the 2WW now, I did in the past and it didn't make any difference. I allow myself to have my wine and all. I wouldn't "diet" I WOULD watch what you eat and eat only healthy foods, regardless. You'd be surprised how much you lose when you do this (I should really take my own advice again).

Never changed a thing. Had a lot of sangria the day before my BFP. Didn't even think twice about it. Definitely would have taken advil without hesitation.

ITA! I've tried changing things, not changing things. So far nothing has made a difference. I don't think advil would have hurt.

In 2WW now. Haven't changed anything. I started dieting a few weeks ago not related to TTCing though and cut down my coffee intake because I think I have too much during the day. Trying not to over analyze symptoms, but I had a headache and yes I took Advil.

Sorry, the only thing I did do was cut down my caffeine intake, but that's mainly because I would need to do that when I finally get & stay preggo and I knew if I waited until then I would get MASSIVE migraines.

I was going to say the same thing. I do try to drink less (but I dont abstain) but the only change I've made is trying to cut out caffeine. More because first tri is exhausting and I cut it out completely, so I want my body to have a chance to detox so I dont have exhaustion + caffeine withdrawal at the same time. Outside of the 2ww I try to limit myself to one cup a day max

I never changed a thing-my RE recommended living a "healthy lifestyle" but other than that I was never told to change a thing.

Not really. I'm in the 2ww now and I am going to dye my hair tonight and have a 1-2 drinks tomorrow.

Re: Do you change anything during the two week wait?

During the TWW I take Tylenol only, i stop taking my scorching hot showers (I love HOT water) and sleeping with my mattress on 4 (heated mattress)

As far as exercise... I am trying to lose weight and I hadn't been able to exercise for other reasons for a while, so I am really out of shape and trying to increase my exercise level. But I only increase my exercise level during the first two weeks of the month, during the two week wait I decrease my level of exercise slightly from whatever I reached earlier in the month. (And I avoid sit ups).

Otherwise I don't change my eating habits, I still drink, have my coffee eat soft cheese, etc. I still do my usual tasks. I still take my allergy meds. By the time you have been doing this 3 years you realize you can't change your habits every TWW.

Although since this cycle I paid a lot of money... I have been a bit more cautious (skipping raking leaves) and some more difficult housework.

And I wouldn't take Advil. My RE and OB both told me not to take it. Tylenol only during TWW.

During this 2ww, I signed up for the gym and started working out. I've been wanting to start for a few months now and finally the time came - nothing related to 2ww, but timing just worked out that way. I highly doubt that had any kind of impact to results.

I say continue doing things as you would!

I never changed anything during the 2WW. Even if you did it won't change anything if you did get a BFP.

Enjoy EVERYTHING until you have to stop!

One question - one poster said they limit their hot showers. Why? I love a HOT shower.

I am so surprised at how many things are bad for you once you are PG. Once I get that BFP there are going to have to be so many changes, some I don't think I even realize yet!! How do you know?

Not sure but I only stopped taking hot showers around 12w pg only b/c it wasn't comfortable. I never heard anything about hot showers. I've only heard about limiting hot baths b/c they can raise your body temp from sitting in it too long.

There really aren't too many things that you are limited from doing once you get the BFP. Some are more strict than others.

I posted that.. I take scorching hot showers. My shower faucet does barely warm and hot enough to make tea and nothing in between. Your not supposed todo things that can raise your internal body temp. My Doctor said not to sleep with my heated mattress on during the 2WW and I know hot tubs are a no no, so I really just assume that scorching hot showers are bad too. Why take a chance. At this point I've been trying so long (went off pill 4/10 and started officially trying 3/11) i am trying to eliminate anything that can potentially cause an issue. So barely warm showers it is.

It probably depends on if you stay in the shower long enough to raise your body temp, I tend to make them long.

I never changed anything. I did int he beginning and it never made a difference. The moth I got PG with my son I had just built a shed with my DH (lifting heavy things) and polished off a bottle of wine.

It took me 2 years to get PG with my son and IMO any changes will not make a difference. You will have to stop these things for 9 months so why stop for what is a "might be" any you do not even share blood with the baby that early so even if you take Tylenol, drink heavily and you happen to be PG it won't make a bit of difference.
