do I call or text ?
Hi all. I'm the class mom for my daughter's preschool and with that I have to call parents to ask them to bring in a snack for parties.
I am just wondering which people would prefer - would you rather get a phone call or a text message in this situation?

I just had this conversation with a mom friend of mine this weekend. No one wants you to call them, ever. Text or email for sure.

Email. Group email so people could reply all and say what snack they're bringing so things aren't duplicated.

Thanks everyone. In the past I've had parents call and text, so I wasn't sure what others thought.
I do like the idea of a group email, but unfortunately I only have phone numbers.
I only have to get in touch with 3 or 4 parents for each party. So hopefully the group text message doesn't get too confusing.

I have to add I hate groups textes if its only 3 or 4 parents I would just send separate emails.

Was going to say text, but I hate group texts. I'm in a few for my kids sports, religion and it is the absolute worst. I don't need a text from every person acknowledging a message, lol.
Only 4 people shouldn't be terrible and it would make sense to keep track of who is brining what.

I prefer all class mom correspondence to be via email actually. That's how my DS' class moms have always done it and I think it works out well.

Shutterfly has a great option for a group page where you can invite the parents of the kids in the class to join, then put up donation lists where everyone can choose what they'd like to bring. It shows what's been claimed and what's still needed.
My son's class used this last year and the year before and it was great.
