Do any OB/GYNs perform HSGs?

I'm confused. My OB/GYN wrote a prescription for me to get an HSG test. I'm looking online for places to get these tests done, and some of the doctors seem to be OB/GYNs. Also, I was going to go to a RE, but being that my OB/GYN is prescribing these tests to me, do I still have to see one or will they just tell me to do the same thing? My OB/GYN studied under an RE, so she said she's very familiar with all of the proper steps to take. If I did go to an RE, would they be able to perform this test onsite or would I still have to look elsewhere? I don't know why I'm letting this overwhelm me so much, but I'm sitting here with prescriptions for TSH, HSG, and a semen analysis and I guess I'm just at a loss as to what to do with them. I found a place at Stony Brook that does all three, but from reading the site, it made it seem like you meet with them and they determine whether or not you should get these tests done. It didn't say anything about being referred by a doctor. HELP!

Maybe you could call your doctor and see if there is anyplace she recommends you go...That would probably be the safest way to do it.

I asked her and the receptionist like 50 times and they said to check with my insurance company to see which places my insurance would cover. I asked for recommendations and she said she didn't have any by my house. Then I asked the receptionist and she gave me info for medical arts radiology and long island medical imaging. I don't know if these places do both HSGs and TSHs, or if they are reputable. I think she said go to Quest for the TSH.

My OBGYN gave me the name of a doctor she recommends to do the HSG.

Ok, I guess I'll just go with the place the receptionist gave me paperwork for. I just figured if you guys had had it done by someone that you recommended, that I'd go to them instead. Thanks anyway though!

I called my insurance company and they told me some labs near my house.

Where do you live? I can recommend the place where I went....

I have to call my insurance company too. I feel like there's not enough time in the day. I live in Nesconset.
