Dizzy spells

I've been lightheaded every so often ever since last week. Yesterday, I started feeling light headed again and so I went to lay down and it seemed like the room was spinning! Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Dizzy spells

yes, especially after laying on my back. theres something about laying on your back..the baby is laying on your vein and cuts the blood flow and you get dizzy. Have you been laying on your back?

No its weird I had been sitting down in all instances where I felt lightheaded.... just annoying!! I do catch myself on my back a lot when I sleep though, trying to stop that!

I was getting them frequently. I would eat something sugary and then I would feel better. I carry granola bars with me everywhere!

Re: Dizzy spells

That happened to me once during this pregnancy. Maybe your blood sugar is too low..

Re: Dizzy spells

I get that when i'm dehydrated. It happened a lot during the first trimester too because you're producing more blood. I was told if you life on your left side it helps with blood flow.

Hope the dizzy spells go away soon for you. Hang in there

This used to happen to me a lot. Especially when I woke up the morning. I ended up keeping granola bars and water on my night stand so I would eat something right away when I woke up. But i used to feel it sometimes at work too when I was just sitting at my desk. My OB said it was totally normal and to just make sure I eat and drink a lot.

Re: Dizzy spells

That has happened to me a few times I checked with my doctor ~ the NP that I saw that day said I needed to drink more water ~ It happened that day it happened I was on the road a lot with DS and did not want to stop for extra bathroom breaks. I figured I would drink when I got home ~ she said it has to do with the extra blood for you and the baby ~ You neeed to drink a lot of water! So I have been listening and haven't had it since.

I just spoke with my Dr about my dizziness and she said this exactly.

Blood pressure can drop if you're not eating or drinking enough. She also said it's normal but it is an indication that you need to eat or drink more.

Re: Dizzy spells

Sorry to be crashing, but just be sure to mention this to your doctor at your next appointment. If you ahve a while before your next one, maybe a quick call.

Only mentioning b/c when I was 30 weeks I started getting what I thought were dizzy spells. I heard pregnant women got them so didn't think much of it. I said something to my OB in passing and he did a thorough check and (long story, short) he found a heart condition I didn't know I had. Baby was fine, I was fine.

I was trying not to be the over reactionary type with calling my doctor and he yelled at me that I should mention every little thing to him.

Good luck!
