Dizziness

The past couple of days, when I get up from my chair or even last night when I was walking the dog, I had bouts of dizziness..I even felt like I might pass out (thank God DH was with me)...but I have never ever had this before and I have no idea what could be causing this - can drinking too much coffee do it? I drink 2 -3 per day. Chat Icon

Re: Dizziness

I get dizzy spells also but I get vertigo from time to time. Maybe if you are drinking too much caffeine and have no food in your system or it could be allergies or sinus'. The are pretty bad this year.

Re: Dizziness

I would also say sinus. Do you have a headache or maybe an ear infection?

It could be vertigo or maybe your blood pressure is low.

Re: Dizziness

Coffee can make me dizzy and jittery - but I used to get really dizzy and it turned out I was anemic.

Re: Dizziness

I would check with your doc. I had the same symptoms and turned out to be Vertigo (very common). I wasn't prescribed any meds. It went away a few days later.

i had the same symptoms. i got vertigo from water in my ears. the doctor prescribed a anti-dizziness drug and the neurologist confirmed i have vertigo. i have an exercise where i look/turn head left, look/ turn head down then look/ turn head right. it works.

Hope you feel better.

Re: Dizziness

Caffiene can cause it, especially if it makes any changes to your blood pressure. Make sure you are well hydrated too. I have gotten dizzy from dehydration when it gets warmer out...not fun. Could be sinuses or vertigo too. I am having a flare up of my sinuses. Yesterday DH wanted me to go for a short walk w/ him and I got dizzy and thought I was going to pass out. He had to pretty much hold me up and drag me the rest of the way back. If it keeps up go to the doctor. Feel betterChat Icon

Re: Dizziness

Chat Icon It could be vertigo when you are already up and walking, but if you notice it more when you first sit up from laying down or stand up from sitting it's more likely your blood pressure. The best advice is sit or stand slow and make sure you are drinking enough water. In the summer people can get dehydrated rather easily and that causes your blood preesure to be very different in different positions. If you are standing up to quickly your body's blood pressure could be changing to much and to correct that you will become dizzy and possible pass out. Our bodies are programmed to preserve life....ie: if you hyperventilate to much then you will pass out and your body will control the breathing itself. Same with your blood pressure. If you have any questions fm me.......try ANtivert if it's vertigo...I take it on occasion and it helps wonders, and drink an extra glass of water or 2 during the summer. Good luck

Re: Dizziness

I had the same thing happening. Went for ear and eye check ups, nothing. Went for a MRI, nothing. Did acupuncture, nothing.

It went away after a while. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
