Disney newbie - help with itinerary!
I am totally, totally overwhelmed with planning our Disney trip! My parents are DVC members, so at least that is taken care of!
We are going in January - Wednesday to Tuesday, so I am hoping for minimal crowds.
DD will be a little over 6 and DS will be 3.5 when we go. I am thinking they can handle one park a day - do we need a day "off" at some point?
Right now I am thinking ~ 1 day at Hollywood Studios ~ 2 days Magic Kingdom ~ 1 day Epcot ~ 1 day Animal Kingdom
Is that totally insane? That would leave both travel days as "lazy" days. Or is it better to tackle a park the day we arrive and take a day off in the middle of the trip to just relax??? Or should we cut out a park? We are frequent visitors to the Bronx Zoo, so is Animal Kindgom really necessary?
Any other suggestions??
Thanks!!!

Looks good to me! We always do at least 2 days at MK! I have to say, I don't really care for AK though. We made that our last day park in December, we visited on our travel day before flying home. We spent about 4 hours there and that was plenty for us! Then grabbed lunch and headed off to the airport!

I was thinking if we get an early flight maybe we should do a park the day we arrive and save a lazy day for the middle of the trip. Sounds like AK would be a good match for a half-day?
I also need to talk to my parents, I am not 100% sure where we are staying, so that may determine the order we do some things in.

Re: Disney newbie - help with itinerary!
Actually that looks good!
I would take a break in the middle of the trip, personally.
All I can really say specifically about AK is just research like crazy because it really is family specific.
We went right before DS turned 3 and basically we needed to choose between AK and HS - we couldn't do both. I was 99% sure it would be AK, then I did the research. I am so glad I did bc DS LOVED HS. There wasn't a ton he could do there, but what he was able to do was just perfect for him. We spent several hours going back and forth between Lightning and Mater and Mike and Sully for greetings and photos. In other words, think quality as well as quantity.
For AK we decided to wait until he's older and can appreciate more of the educational aspect of it. Also, with AK, there isn't as much instant gratification, i.e. sometimes you don't see as much on safari if the animals aren't cooperating, or you may have to hunt or strain to see them. My DS needs to be a little more mature for that.
However, others on here will say don't leave out AK and have equally valid logic depending on their family.
Hope that makes sense.

Re: Disney newbie - help with itinerary!
I just reread and since you're not sacrificing another park I would do AK, but whether it's a full day or not depends on your family.
