If you have been or are planning to go to disney with a toddler, could you please share your itinerary?
We keep going back and forth - do we need to rent a car? do we need a kitchen? will our 20m old son be too tired to spend the entire day at disney? will I (6m pregnant) be able to walk around all day at disney?

Do you need a car? If you stay within Disney. NO. If you plan to go to Sea World, etc.. yes.
Do you need a kitchen? Not unless you plan to cook. Our room had a mini fridge and a microwave. They have yogurt, fruits for kids. This is a kid's place so they do have food for kids. DS is a picking eater. I bought DS's food through gardengrocer.com (like peapod) I had the water bottles delivered to our room. As well as milk, snacks, sodas, etc...
Will you able to walk all day? It's a LOT of walking but plenty of people take their time. They sit for snacks. Lots of sitting areas. This is why I was suggesting a hotel on the monorail. Less standing and close to transportation and to hotels. Where are you staying?
ETA: I would call Disney and see how their policy is on PG guests and rides. Like can you wait on a bench somewhere and go to the front of the line when it's your turn. Or you might want to concider "fast pass". You take a ticket for a particular time so you have a lot less waiting standing up.

We haven't booked anything yet. We were exploring aruba also. DH seems to think it won't be worth it to go to disney with a pregnant wife (still suffering from morning sickness) and a toddler son.

My DD is considerably older than your DS. Our itinerary stands thus:
Day 1: Arrival & Epcot (we have dinner booked together w/ Candlelight Processional and fireworks) Day 2: Public bus to Sea World (20 min ride $2PP each way) Day 3: Animal Kingdom & Hollywood Studios Day 4: Magic Kingdom (we have Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party booked) Day 5: Magic Kingdom & departure
We are staying at a hotel on the monorail.

Re: If you've been or are going to Disney with a toddler, could you please share your itinerary?
We went last year with DS when he was 22 months, HE LOVED EVERY SECOND. I wasnt pregnant but we are going in December and I will be 20 weeks (still with m/s and lots of exhaustion!) and a nearly 3 year old.
Last year we went it was horribly hot -- 90+ degrees. So basically here was our schedule Day 1 - arrive, checked in to hotel, went to epcot, had dinner, watched fireworks when back to hotel
Day 2 - ate at hotel, went to magic Kingdom, after lunch, back to hotel for nap time (2 hours) back to Magic Kingdom until after dinner
Day 3 - ate at hotel, went to Animal Kingdom, after lunch back to hotel for pool time, then back to epcot until after fireworks
Day 4 (last full day) did a full day at MK, then took monorail to Epcot for fireworks.
Day 5 - took off around 12.
This year we are going one extra day. but I am planning on taking it slow. My SIL went a few years ago when she was pregnant and it was hot but they did let her and her party skip ahead at times.
I am not too worried, I am actually excited to be going on a final vacation as a family of 3.
ETA: We did rent a car, I dont like being at the mercy of any public transportation especially on vacation. People say at times they wait for long periods for the bus and I didnt want to deal with that. Kitchen not necessary IMO.
