disney in october - what to wear, and purses?
hi all - we are going to disney for a week in october (will be there for the food & wine festival!). i checked weather.com and it looks like the weather is still in the low 80s. could i wear sundresses/maxi dresses? i am always so much more comfortable in a dress when it is hot out!
also, what do you use as a purse? last time i was in disney it was only for 2 days and i used a clutch purse that had a detachable strap and wove the strap through a couple belt loops of my shorts. but, if i am wearing dresses that obv wouldn't be an option. should i wear a small cross-body bag? i don't want to have to deal with holding onto stuff during rides.

I went to Disney in mid-November a few years back and the weather was awesome! I mostly wore capris and short sleeves; my girls wore shorts and sandals, so I would predict that dresses would work at that time too.
As for a bag, I used a cross-body.
Have fun! I'm going back this fall too!!

I wore a crossbody. Much easier to be hands free.
Other times, we just took a backpack with our camera, diapers, drinks, etc.

I used this bag on our recent trip to Disney. It was perfect! Enough room to hold what I needed and soft enough that I could sit on it while on rides.

The Vera Bradley mini hipster is a great crossbody bag for Disney. Lightweight, and holds the essentials.

I got this one from MAcys yesterday around $30. we are going in Nov and I really just want it for my wallet and phone to take on rides and not leave that stuff in the stroller.

we went to Disney for part of our honeymoon in 2006... it was towards the end of October. we did NOT bring enough "warm" clothes. it was gorgeous weather, but not shorts/tank top weather. more capris or lightweight pants with a tank during the day and definitely 100% sweatshirts in the evening/at night. so make sure you bring some jeans, jackets, sweatshirts etc just in case. I don't think it hit 80 at all while we were there.

A crossbody is fine. I usually don't carry one and just use my room key to pay for things and DH carries my phone in his pocket. We have gone in October for the food and wine festival a few times and the weather has always been AWESOME! I wear jeans and tanks but you can definitely wear sundresses, just bring a pair or two of jeans and a light sweater for night time.

We go every year for the F&W festival - so much fun! Last year it was HOT and it rained - A LOT! We wore shorts and t-shirts every day.
I have a little crossbody that I usually bring. However, because it rained every afternoon/night, we needed to bring the backpack and put our rain jackets in there.
We usually get the little wristband F&W gift cards and load them up with cash which makes things a lot easier.

We went in October 2008 and it was still HOT!! We wore mostly shorts/tanks/capris.

I live in FL now, moved down last Nov and it was still pretty warm during the day. I think if you brought summer clothing and then a light zip up at night you will be fine.
As far as bags go, I would bring a cross body bag, small enough that you just have to carry basic stuff in there.

Hi,
I can't help with weather but I just got back from Disney. I used my Kate Spade nylon cross body bag. It was the perfect size! I was able to fit my wallet, camera, waters, and ponchos in it. It was very comfortable to carry.
