Disney During February Break

I am sure this has already been posted, but I couldn't find any info on it.

We are going to Disney during the President's Week break and I am just curious how busy it is. Some websites say it is a good time to go since southern schools don't have the weak off. Other sites say that it is one of the busiest weeks. Any ideas??? Also how warm is it? Would we be able to enjoy the pool a the hotel? I assume the pool is heated. We are staying at Coronado Springs. TIA!

I have heard it is very busy. I t is also the week before the princess half marathon so you have to factor that in as well. (the marathon is on the Sunday before school starts back up). HTH

We went a couple of years ago and it wasn't busy at all. President's Day itself was, and the weekend leading up to it, but the weekdays were all fine. Most school districts in other areas don't have a winter break.

Re: Disney During February Break

Go go go!!!

We went this year and had a GREAT time.

It was crowded but it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. I wondered if it was lighter than usual because some of the NY area lost the break after Sandy but I don't know if that would have really made a difference - after all, we still went because we would have lost $.

Even with the crowds we planned well and never waited more than 20 minutes and even that was only for a handful of rides.

The weather was just gorgeous.

Airfare is high that time but when I compared prices for our hotel (the Boardwalk) to the summer time they were identical. That makes it a no brainer for me - can't do the summer heat.

As long as I need to follow the school schedule I would not go any other time. I can't wait to plan for Feb. 2015.

I just spoke to a colleague today who went last year during winter break and she said it was perfectly fine. She said she got the app to keep track of the lines and it helped so much! I feel better about this trip. I agree, summer and Disney are not a good combo for us.

Re: Disney During February Break

We were thinking the week prior, leading into Presidents Day. (actually would check out on the Monday)
I'm wondering if it would be busy?

Based on other reviews I read, the week before President's Week is one of the best weeks. I cannot remember where I read it because I looked at sooo many websites.

Re: Disney During February Break

President's Week can be very crowded. However, it is not as crowded as Thanksgiving, Easter, Christmas, etc.
My family visited during President's Week every year growing up and we always had a blast. That said it was much more crowded during that week than say the first week of December when no schools are closed.

If that time of year works for you, then by all means GO! If you have a touring plan or at least a general idea of predicted crowds you should be totally fine.

As for the pools, they are heated. Some trips it was HOT and perfect pool weather, other trips I wore a sweat shirt the whole time. Bring a light jacket/sweat shirt and you'll be fine.

When clients tell me that they specifically want to avoid crowded times, I usually include that week in my list to avoid. If you're looking for the least busy time of year to go while taking advantage of a school break it's at the top of my list of time TO go.
