Dishwasher safe - Top only?
I bought some outdoor dishes made of that Melanmie (sp?/name?) plastic. On the back it says dishwasher safe on topshelf only... Um the dishes are WAY to big to fit up there?? Do I have to hand wash now?

Hmmm maybe test with one dish on the bottom. (with a full load of course) see if it damages the one plate.

Or maybe wash them on the gentle cycle and don't do a heated dry at the end?

It will prob melt out of shape if you put it on the bottom rack... I wouldn't chance it. Unless they were cheap.
Otherwise I'd handwash. On the bright side - melamine is SO easy to clean!
