oh what a waste of time and money. I didn't hear it either.
the FBI should go fight some real crime.
Someone saying "kill him" in reference to a Presidential candidate sounds like a real crime to me. Most likely it was just some idiot, but what if it wasn't?

how many times have you said you were going to kill someone - did you actually mean it?

As someone who works with the US Capitol Police and the USSS on a regular basis IRL, yes, this is considered a threat and it will be investigated and pursued, as it rightfully should.
Any time anyone makes a threatening remark, gesture, or movement towards someone who is a Congressman, US Senator, or a protectee of the USSS--as all four of those running are--the threat is investigated to the fullest extent.

Never. But this is not some playground thing. Obama probably has many threats against him as it is- of course it has to be taken seriously.

ITA. I don't say I'm going to kill someone, maybe that I'd like to slap them, that's about it. It probably is just some nut job getting worked up at a rally, but I agree it should be investigated.

Assuming these things were said, and McCain heard them.. Do you think he should have reacted in some way? If so, how?

Good question. I have the feeling he didn't know what to say to that. Not sure how he should have responded or at all.

Re: Disgusting Behavior at McCain/Palin Rally
the secret service is already investigating.
This is not the first time some moron has spewed hatred at a rally or debate.
It's always investigated.

Re: Disgusting Behavior at McCain/Palin Rally
I think the tone that this campaign has taken on suddenly is very dangerous, especially Sarah Palin’s comments. She is in my opinion trying to incite the right wing nuts and when she speaks of patriotism, and basically calling Obama a terrorist, and un-American she sounds racist. It’s scary, but I think it just goes to show that the Republicans are running scared; they can’t beat Obama so they figure they have nothing to lose.

Saying you're going to kill someone and not meaning it is a bit different then yelling it out loud at a political rally attended by thousands after what could be considered an inciting speech by the "victim's" opponent...

I agree. It's scary. She has no weight behind her and she's resorting to personal attacks insteading her stance on the issues speak for themselves. It really disgusts me.
