Discovery Health Channel

is showing "I didn't know I was pregnant" a show about women who delivered babies and had no idea until that moment that they were pregnant! This is crazy to me. I guess it happens though. Anyone on here not know they were pregnant until far into their pregnancy?

Re: Discovery Health Channel

There are women who have extremely erratic or virtually non-existent periods which could explain one reason why a woman might not know.

I have also heard a few times about cases of women who were overweight with a slight weight gain who have gone into an ER with severe abdominal cramping only to find that they were in labor. My mother happened to know she was PG with me but she only gained 10 pounds in her pregnancy and I weighed 9 pounds 8 ounces. She was overweight before she got PG (or so says my much older sister who claims to remember - though I tend to believe her given my family history of obesity.)

Re: Discovery Health Channel

Interesting show! I wish I had seen it.

Did they say anything about what they did those 9 mths (you know, about not allowed things during pg such as smoking, drinking, taking medications, eating certain foods, etc)? I am curious b/c that would be interesting based on all the restrictions we have.

An old friend of mine claims she didn't know until 7-8 months that she was pregnant. It just seems impossible to me.........after being pregnant now for the past 28 1/2 weeks I don't see how you could possibly not know you're pregnant. My entire body is so completely different. So many things have changed and aside from the physical changes there is the baby moving!! How can you mistake that feeling of kicks, punches, position changes, and hiccups for anything other than a baby moving. It doesn't feel like anything else I've ever experienced, you can't mistake it for heartburn or an upset stomach. I just don't get it. Re: Discovery Health Channel

I know someone who this happened to! I never thought it was truthful until I found out it happened to her!

Imagine going to the hospital with a stomach ache, and coming out with a BABY!!??

They had to run out and buy a car seat just to bring baby home. Unbelieveable! Chat Icon

Yeah it is very strange. I can undestand just thinking you're putting weight on, but what would you think of the kicks and the rolling movements?? I mean I swear some days that there is an alien in there!
