Disappointing Friends
Is it just me or do you feel the older you get the less you have dependable friends. It seems that i have to always be the one to make the effort--be it email or call them first or they disappear off the face of the earth..also i have a friend on monday nite who called me at 10:30 (10:30 at nite, when im sleeping and she knows this) to basically b*tch me out that I didnt return her call on Sunday... um i was busy--just b/c i have a cell phone doesnt mean i can return ur call within 5 seconds.. i dont need to speak to my friends every day--once a week is fine by me, but im so disappointed in about 75% of the pple i used to consider friends, that I am writing them all off. sad yet true..

Re: Disappointing Friends

Part of growing up is understanding that there are priorities like work and school that come before returning a BS phone call from a friend. Your friend is being a little bit of a snot.
WE love ya, Mich

Re: Disappointing Friends
I'm dealing with the same thing right now. Its finals time - I'm having a tough time as it is, and my friends' "love me, hug me, pay attention to me" comments are realllly starting to STRESS ME OUT

Re: Disappointing Friends
Actually it's been the opposite - maybe it's because I've ignored my friends for so long that all the 2nd tier ones have dropped off.
I think everyone has a lot on their plate - and whatever time we can spare to maintain our friendships we do. For me, friends just have to understand that otherwise they aren't friends, they're albatrosses.
