Disability paperwork can someone try to explain something to me please....

My company is in the middle of a take over and I can't stand how info is being communicated to me.

I received the disability paperwork in the mail today (Aug 9) and it says that I need to have my dr fill out the certification paperwork within 15 days of date on letter. The letter they sent me is dated August 1st. It says specifically in the letter if they don't receive the certification within 15 days of receipt of letter my leave of absence will be treated as an unauthorized absence ***

I'm due October 24th so because of the acquisition I asked for the paperwork early to get prepared. I didn't know there would be a specific time frame to submit it back.

I just left a message with the companys HR dept. About that within 15 days crap. So I'll see what she says. I see my dr tomorrow so I'll give her the paperwork but I'm not sure if I'll get it back that day.

So did I ask for this paperwork prematurely? Does the time frame they gave me (the 15 day window upon receipt of letter) to submit my dr's paperwork normal procedure?

My paperwork was the same way but my company said that with maternity leave they didnt need it within 15 days..hopefully it will be the same thing for you

You can turn it in I believe it says to put your EDD.
