We went to John's Pizzeria recently and it was awsome! The prices were reasonable and the food was great!

We just went to John's before a show the other night. It used to be our favorite, but I don't think it is as good as it used to be. The pizza was good but the salad was a big bowl of lettuce 2 tomatoes and cucumber and they didn't give bread. I think Patsy's Pizzeria is better. Patsy's has better salad's, great rolls, larger menu, and is a tad cheaper. The only thing is that there is not one in times square. The closest ones in the 30s on 3rd Ave, on 23rd street on the west side and 74th on the west side. Patsy's Pizzeria

Becco is my favorite! I used to work in Times Square. Becco is very reasonably priced. John's pizza is fun and cheap. There are a lot of really touristy things in that area that I would avoid (ESPN Zone, Mars 2112, etc.).

Daniella's Ristorante is a cute, quaint place to grab a bite before a show. If I remember correctly (been a while since I've been) it's on 8th ave.

I also like Virgils bBQ
there's Cancun for mexican on 8th ave a bit further up....
there are very few restaurants in TS that I like. it's touristy, overpriced, and not that good in most instances.

Cara Mia is on 9th Ave between 44th and 45th streets - It's a really great place for a couple, or a group of friends - Good food and reasonable prices ......... And not touristy like Carmine's .......

I actually had a terrible experience at Becco and have not been back. I think it is terribly overrated.

wow, I've never had a bad experience. I also do a lot of corporate dinners there.
May I also suggest Tonic on 7th and 49th? It's a little trendy with a sports bar atmosphere but nice food and drinks.

I love this place!
I agree with pp, Becco is so overrated, I personally don't really like it... Their pasta is good but that's about it IMO.
44&X (44th and 10th) is also yummy...

Tony DiNapolis is really good. Casual pre-theater family style Italian. I believe they have a website, take a look.
