Is it safe to drink diet sodas and sweeteners like Equal?

Diet Sodas
My Dr told me splenda and stevia in moderation is okay, but to try to stay away from equal and sweet & low. All dr's have their own opinions though.

I've avoided diet sodas. The chemicals aren't good for you when you're NOT pregnant, so I figure no reason to have 'em during pregnancy! I will have a regular soda every once in a while, though (particularly root beer ... mmm!).

I was told Equal is safe. Everything in moderation. I have one diet soda every day and my doctor said that is fine. Splenda is relatively new so there have been no studies about its safety. I've been trying to avoid it for that reason.

Splenda in moderation - I've found Waist Watchers brand at Pathmark to be splenda.

My dr told me no diet sodas. I avoid anything with aspartame in it - so no crystal light or most 0 calorie beverages. I gave up caffeine, too, so I don't drink any splenda, sweet n low or equal either.

I drank them inoderation maybe once a month. I was told splenda in coffee or tea once a day was fine. I try to limit it but will have it once in awhile.

Avoid them, once in a while is okay. I've been drinking a lot of flavored seltzers, you may wanna try that instead of the diet sodas...

I'm not the norm on this but I do drink diet soda, crystal light, diet iced tea.....I'm a juvenile diabetic and can't have regular soda and too much water makes me sick to my stomach. This is my fourth pregnancy and I've done the same for all four.....so far, all three of my children are fine and this baby is fine too. I think you should d what you're comfortable with though. What works for me, might not work for you and vice versa.....I'm a firm believer in picking your battles. Good luck!!!

I've been drinking decaf diet soda throughout my pregnancy. My doctor said 2 cans a day is fine, especially since i was having morning sickness and soda seemed to calm my stomach. I also drank it throughout my first pregnancy without any problems.
